We used Sparrow & Sons Plumbing to get our plumbing in good shape to sell our house. We appreciate Tommy's professionalism, his patience in answering our questions, his very neat and efficient approach to his work, and his courtesy. I called Sparrow & Sons when the plumbing company that originally did installation when our house was built no longer wants to do residential work. A neighbor had recently used Sparrow. I had an outside faucet that was leaking. Part of the problem was a vacuum device that original plumbers had accidentally left in place. I also had an kitchen faucet hose leaking. Walter removed the old, showed me how to do it myself the next time, and recommended some lines to keep and eye on in the future. I will be using Sparrow from now on. more

Our preschool had what we thought was a sewer leak that was bad enough the school was closed. Sparrow & Sons came right out and VERY thoroughly examined the entire plumbing system. They determined the plumbing looks fine, but the smell was a dead animal in the vents. They even went above and beyond the call of duty trying to find the culprit in question. And on top of it all, they didn't charge an arm and a leg. We were extremely impressed with their level of professionalism and will definitely be using them again. After reading some of the negative reviews I had to respond to them.I worked for Sparrow and Sons for 20 years full time so I feel qualified to say this.\r It is a family owned company which is loyal to its custumers and its employees. In all the years I was there they always tried to do the best job that could be done. Plumbing is not a perfect world and the jobs are not always cut and dried and believe me being a plumber is hard. The guys in the field are the finest group of people I have had the pleasure of working with, and on some jobs you might have 50+ years of expirence looking at the problem. They will fix it. And yes plumbers are real people with tobacco habits and dental problems BUT I assure you there are no crackheads or meth addicts that work there. The office staff Micheal, Jonathon, Frank work hard to get the jobs done right and on time. My two experiences with Sparrow have both been all good. Two different servicemen, both very friendly, capable, and happy to answer my questions. Phone service at the office also was first-rate. Sparrow and Sons has been in business for a long time, and has always tried to satisfy every customer and treat all situations promptly. Some situations can be resolved in one visit, and others situations call for extra visits. If there is ever any problem with our work, our customers know that all they have to do is call the office to get it resovled. \r \r Some of our employees have been with us for 25 to 30 years, and unfortunately, some do have teeth missing. We do feel that that can be overlooked, and apologize to our customers who feel that is a problem.\r \r We at Sparrow simply ask that before any judgments are made on Sparrow and Sons based on customer feedback, just ask your neighbors or the local chamber of commerce! Our neighbor swears by Sparrow but we were apprehensive after reading reviews on this website. We had also previously (4-5 years ago) had difficulty making an appointment (I believe Mrs. Sparrow used to field calls, which does not appear to be the case currently). \r \r This time our call was answered promptly and courteously by a man who made an appointment at a time that worked well for us (he offered us a 2-hour window, which seemed perfectly reasonable). Lester arrived on time and did an AMAZING job! He worked very quickly and efficiently and is obviously very experienced and knowledgable. My husband (who is not easily impressed) raved about the experience (we have had mixed results with plumbers and were delighted to find a company we feel we can confidently trust...that's it's locally owned and operated is an additional plus). I agree 100% with the last reviewer's statements. It has taken THREE TRIPS for these moronic, chain smoking idiots to change a vanity from single to double. \r \r They charge $95/ hour - Most of the time they are smoking in our driveway... Now, we don't smoke, so when our toddler tried to put one of the SEVEN cigarettes they left in our driveway, we nearly died. One of the guys that works for them has no teeth, probably from meth or crak, and you can't understand a word he says. WTF????? \r \r We tried one last time, they were THREE HOURS LATE and unapologetic. The man who answers the calls is so incredibly rude on the phone. He said they were ""thinking about coming out in an hour or so"". WHAT?!\r WHO SAYS THAT? AFTER MAKING US WAIT FOR THREE HOURS???? WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND THINKS THIS IS OK SERVICE? We had two unpleasant encounters with Sparrow. In both cases, Sparrow required multiple site visits to diagnose old cast iron pipes in need of replacement. They did not show up for scheduled appointments even in an emergency situation when one of the pipes had burst and we had to turn the water off for a week. In addition, the office personnel who answer the phones are ill-informed about service calls and the staff can be sort of arrogant.
