SpaVelia is a Wonderful Place to Pamper Yourself and feel like you are on Top of the World 5/15/2007

I made my first trip from Minneapolis to SanDiego in March. I took a Holland America Cruise to Mexico and spent time in the City of San Diego on my return. I must say that my experience at SpaVelia was the definate highlight of the my time spent in the City of San Diego. I received a wonderful welcome at the Spa by the concierge and was made to feel very welcome and comfortable by the staff immediately. The ambience is something to really appreciate and the glass of champagne while sitting in my luxurious robe waiting for Staci was so fantastic. I was there for a facial. After spending a week in the sun I was in desparate need of a miracle. A miracle was what I received. I was so relaxed and was so pampered. Staci was willing to share each step of the process with me. My skin was so soft and smooth when I left SpaVelia. It left me feeling beautiful. I was on top of the world without a care. I am recommending this experience for anyone and everyone. Now back in Minneapolis I am telling business associates that are traveling to San Diego that they can't miss the City of San Diego itself . It is beautiful and most definately they cannot miss the chance to pamper themself at SpaVelia. It is a MUST. more

Fantastic Massage 2/20/2007

My husband and I had couple's massages as a Valentine's Day gift to each other. As first timers to Spa Velia we felt very welcome - right at home. The facility is very soothing with a nice relaxation room for before and after treatments (plus a tasty mimosa). I get massages regularly and must say that my masseuse that day was top notch. We will be back! Pros: wonderful space, nice people, awesome showers Cons: less space to relax when it's busy more

Thank you from my Mother and I! 2/19/2007

Greeted with lush fluffy terrycloth robes, a glass of champagne, you then enter a velvet, candle lit relaxtion lounge, a visit to the co-ed steam room before and after treatments, (met a really nice man named David :) we have actually been on a date since then! ). After my deep tissue massage and excellent facial, I indulged in a fabulous oversized 360 degrees natural water flow shower.... image shower heads coming at you from every angle. Relaxing, Clean and Comfortable... 1/28/2007

This was my first time at this spa and I didn't know what to expect. I was trusting the internet and I was 100% satisfied with the results. I had a relaxing massage and a facial. The staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds were very clean and very relaxing. I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable. I chose this place over the W Hotel spa (it's directly across the street) and was amazed on how perfect it was. I will visit this spa again and would reccommend it to all. more

Best Day Spa in San Diego! 12/30/2006

This place is great. I have loved all the treatments I have had so far, but it is all the little extras that make this spa so special. The robes are to die for, the lounge is really comfortable and relaxing, and the 7-head showers in the changing rooms are like a spa service in themselves. They always treat me really well there. Definitely one of my favorite places in town! Pros: Great therapists, great extras, really relaxing, great atmosphere Cons: Downtown is a bit far away for me more

My San Diego favorite 12/28/2006

This is a small, nurturing place in the middle of the city. The atmosphere is great, as are the services, but it is all the little extras that make this place so special. The 7-head showers are a spa service in themselves. The lounge is very relaxing, the robes to die for (!) and everytime I go I get a complimentary glass of wine or a special treat of some sort. I feel special there. The owners have obviously been in the spa business for a long time, they do it right! more

absolute perfection 12/28/2006

This is my favorite spa in San Diego. I have tried many and this one delivers it all. I love the calming atmosphere - almost as much as the pomegranate mimosas you receive before your treatment. The treatments here are top notch. I go for the MD Peel every 6 weeks and have noticed a dramatic improvement in my skin. I have even brought my boyfriend in for a couples massage - HE LOVED IT! Pros: Ambience, Service more

Oh mama! 12/27/2006

Spa Velia is spa perfection. It is my new regular for facials, massage, and waxing. There is no release after work better than walking through the wooden door into the treatment area, sipping a pomegranite mimosa, and relaxing in the lounge. I am relaxed before I even begin. I swear by the MD Peel. It is nice to know I have finally found a place that offers service, atmosphere, and killer treatments. more

Park in a lot, found great coupon in downtown mag., great attention to details 12/27/2006

Spa Velia was the best spa experience I've had in this city. I lost all track of time as soon as I walked through the doors. I would recommend parking in a lot even if you have a short session, you'll want to stay for awhile. I LOVED the steamroom and the showers were great. Oh yes, and my massage was fabulous. They are truely professionals. Pros: quiet, beautiful decor, great therapists Cons: parking more

Great Birthday 12/26/2006

Spa Velia was a great experience. I've been going to spas for many years and sometimes it's a "hit or miss". This was deffinetly a "hit". I can't remember the last time I had a massage that was so detailed and I loved the eye pillow and the aromatherapy oils were heavenly. I found the intimate atmosphere and the beautiful decor to be very warm and personal. The robes were plush and steamroom and showers were a great surprise. I can't wait to make my next appointment. more

Gold Standard Spa Treatments 11/21/2006

If you appreciate great spa experiences and massage like I do, then get yourself to Spa Velia pronto. I?m an avid spa goer?I?ve been to countless spas and I?ve probably averaged a massage a week for the past 20 years?so trust me when I tell you that Spa Velia is one of the best anywhere. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and inviting with careful attention paid to the fine details?cozy robes, plush furniture, smooth tunes, and a stylish urban spa decor that invites you to relax from the moment you walk through the door. The front desk ladies are fun, efficient, and accommodating. While you unwind before and after your massage, you get to help yourself to a mini buffet of spa treats--fresh fruit, nuts, teas, infused water, and a beer or glass of champagne. They have a spacious co-ed steam room nestled between the locker rooms and big showers with oversized rainstorm shower heads. All of these details (and the super friendly staff) make Spa Velia special, but the reason to go is the quality of their therapists and treatments. If you like strong, deep-tissue, relaxing massages like I do, then you?ve found the right place. All of their therapists are great, but Lisa K. and Ashley C. are two of the best on the planet. No exaggeration; these ladies and their magic hands are the gold standard for massage therapists. Don?t believe me? Go and experience Spa Velia for yourself. But beware: if you go once, you?ll go back again and again. Pros: Everything--staff, atmosphere, service, therapists, treatments Cons: Street parking more

Most relaxing experience ANYWHERE!!! 11/20/2006

I have had three massages at Spa Velia and each is better than the last. From the moment you walk through the inner door, you forget the world outside. The aromatherapy, the lighting, the water sounds and the beverages (adult or otherwise) start your journey. The full body massaging shower is followed by a comfortable robe and slippers (provided by the Spa) and a wet sauna or a comfortable reading/relaxing area while your therapist prepares your room. Each of the therapists is an expert in their own area of massage. I have had the hot rock massage twice and the full body massage once. All three therapists put me at ease and I was a different person after each massage. I am looking forward to trying their couples massage and their in-room massage services at the US Grant!! more

Best spa in san diego 11/20/2006

I just came away from another wonderful spa day at Spa Velia. This spa is not even close to me. I live much closer to some of the big name hotel spas in San Diego. But it is so worth the drive. The environment is so intimate and cozy and peaceful. The services are extraordinary. Quality is unmatched! Thank you Spa Velia for making me feel so good! Can't wait to come back! Pros: intimate setting. GREAT service Cons: none that I can think of more

Spectacular facial! Friendly staff 11/20/2006

Julianna gave me one of the best facials that I've ever had. I saw immediate results and even got carded afterwards when buying wine (what a compliment! I could have a child that's 21). The concierge was helpful in making the reservation and everyone was very friendly. I travel the world and have gone to more spas than I can count and this place is really worth talking about. Thank you for a wonderful experience! I'll definitely be back on my next trip to San Diego! more

A relaxation paradise in the midle of a stone jungle. 10/4/2006

Working in downtown is very stressful, but sometimes I'm so conditioned to that stress that I forget the things that bring me peace and joy. more
