Life @Sovereign Health of California...There are a lot more educational groups now like brain wellness and cognitive rehabilitation. The staff is great, they are like a family because they will remember you like they all remembered me from last year it is just nice to be remembered. Sovereign is really flexible and helpful with their insurance so if your time is running out, they would be really nice to see you and still love you. more

I actually first heard about Sovereign Health through a close friend of ours who was working with a therapist I believe in Long Beach that recommended Sovereign as a quality rehab facility from what she knew of it.The first week I was incredibly just pleased. I think from the get go you know the frontline people Linda, Alejandra, Robin I was just very impressed with their kindness and patience. I got matched up with Dr Kelly and we have had a really good relationship couple of little bumps at the beginning but really appreciate her and I actually have been really impressed with the clinical side of the operations from the get go. I have a lot of admiration and appreciation for Chrissy and Heidi and all the therapists. I have also very much appreciated Dr Kim Corney she is far and away the most understanding, caring psychiatrist I have worked with.\r Yeah I definitely can recommend Sovereign. I just really appreciate the people here even in some of the difficulties and frustrations more

I heard about Sovereign Health through my dad who is a recovering addict for 10 years. His sponsor said that this was a great place and that he had sent his own sister here. Some of my favorite groups here at Sovereign were anger management. I learned a lot from the nutrition groups.\r I had a great therapist. She asked me the right questions to see how I was feeling to get out of my thoughts and Brandon was great. My suggestion for the new people coming in to Sovereign is give it some time. You have to learn how to surrender and it is going to take a while to get used to changes but if you come with an open mind, you realize that this is bettering your future then there is a lot to get out of this place.\r I enjoyed they take me out at the beach which is great. Get to play a little basketball and it is not all work, so some fun stuff to do here too. more

It was a great place and I learned a lot from the nutrition groups. After completing my first week it is approved by your therapist and you start to get phone time on a nightly basis after dinner and chores are done you start out with 15 minutes of privileges and you can start scheduling some visits from family members through your therapist. Later phone time is increased to 30 minutes and you can have three hour offside visits with family members and significant others to help in your recovery process, to let them know what is going on, share some time with them and give that encouragement that you really need. I found that to be very valuable as it reinvigorates me for the coming up week. more

I heard about the Sovereign program because I am actually a Sovereign Alumni. I came to the program which I heard about it through Treatment Solutions Network and it is where my EAP had told me to go. Sovereign has definitely changed after groups. My therapist in Long Beach, California was the one who discovered Sovereign Health and led me here. My family came down from Montana to bring me here and I was in Sovereign Health for 3 months – 90 days. So, in the 90 days that I was here, it was a life changing experience. I went from very, very sick, when I came into the program, to better – not healed, but much better and much more able to go on and deal with life when I left. I loved the healing aspect of being so close to the ocean – and being allowed to have time down there. We even went down to the ocean and did Yoga classes, some days. That was a very healing and peaceful experience. I loved the counsellors and therapists that were here. The house managers were fun So the whole program, the whole aspect, from outside, being in the house, doing things to make ourselves well, healthy – walking on the beach, taking tine in the community – they were healing aspects as well – not only being in counselling sessions, which we did hours of each day – but it was a well rounded experience. more

I am a long shoreman from Seattle. If you don’t know what that is, I load and unload ships and we have a guy that takes care of us popularly known as an EAP (Employee Assistance Professional). I was very close to him and asked him for help and he sent me to research three places, because I was his first patient going in for a Dual Diagnosis. I did research on 3 places and I felt that Sovereign has been the best treatment center as in that all the other places I’d been to didn’t have a dual diagnosis program. They worked on my medication, and helped me change it to the best of their ability. When I first came here, the pain I was going through was indescribable. My mental state, I could hardly see myself coming out of this relapse. The therapy here is second to none as far as treatment centers go. It’s not going to go perfectly from A to Z, 1 to 100, but they’re going to do their best to make sure your needs are taken care of. When I came here I felt that I was almost in a drug induced psychosis. I have bipolar disorder, borderline, anxiety, and I am still awaiting a test for Aspergers. I was clueless, and this place gave me hope. This place can give you hope too. more

I didn?t realize that there were places like this that could help me, and so I was ready to come. My experience with the ED Program has been phenomenal. I have learned a new way to eat, live and be healthy that I never even knew existed. It has been amazing to learn what my body needs, how to eat the right portion size, and how to consistently feed the body this way. My primary therapist has been amazing in assisting me and giving me dead-on right assignments to build my self esteem, to look at the things about myself that I am not comfortable with, and why is that. We?ve really delved into some core issues that I have never got into before. I found the group sessions very helpful here. There are so many doctors walking around here and they know what they are talking about. And I received a whole lot of support from everybody on staff. Any time I had something more

I basically heard about Sovereign Health two months ago. This is a place where you can get help for mental health and physical health. Everybody was very helpful. The staff here is just perfect. I learned a lot. I got a lot out of Sovereign Health Center. A lot of information in my head about diet, anger management, and learning about your brain; things I never thought I would learn. I am 62 days clean today thanks to Sovereign Health. New people should give patience and time. This is an excellent program, and I recommend it to anybody. I am now going to get my job back, but you’ve got to be clean. And this is the right place. more

I heard about Sovereign treatment center through my EAP (Employee Assistance Program) where I work. With the actual program, when I got here and then I started, the first week was revolutionary in my thoughts about a lot of things. I was learning so much, very quickly. The nutritionist totally made me look differently with my relationship with food. She would paint a lot of pictures and give us metaphors, which helped bring our heads back to normal. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was very personalized. So we could talk about what was going on in my life, and I found that really helpful. The medical doctor, Dr. Snyder was revolutionary for me. I had never had a doctor who seemed to care so much about me as a person, especially not a medical doctor. He was very blunt, he was to the point sometimes, but I appreciated that. I have very positive feelings generally about most of the staff here, at Sovereign. I think that the first part is that they all care. For somebody who is planning to come in to Sovereign, I would give them advice. Just know that you are in good hands. more

If you are there with the right mindset you are going to get a lot of growth because the people here really do care. When you first start the program they really help you to get in tune to who you are and to get adjusted to the people on the home and Sovereign Health facility center. You are under proper supervision of your therapist. You can have visits with family members, significant others to help in your recovery process. more

Sovereign Health was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was in desperate need of help and I never felt better in my life. The fact that I was away from home is not just the distance but you know the quality of care. Sovereign has given me the tools to support, the instruction, the care everything to address, understand and accept my disease. People, even folks that are not my doctors or not my therapist, they are always nice to me. I just feel like I have had a well rounded satisfying experience. I had a great time. I heard about Sovereign program through Treatment Solutions Network and its where my EAP had told me to go. It was still diagnosis and it had the whole homely feeling. Sovereign is you know just the right size as far as people and staff and so I hopped on a plane. I am from Connecticut I came all the way out to California. Sovereign definitely changed groups we have a lot more educational groups now like brain wellness and cognitive rehabilitation which I love the cognitive rehabilitation with Dr Cho. She always show some really good slides pretty much and she always has a good presentation that usually play like a really neat game but it is just cool to see how you know due to our addictions and whatever is that we have been going through whether its mental health, depression. The staff here is great and so friendly and is almost like your family. more
