Southfield Family Sauna & Tub

This place is pretty nice. The employees are very friendly and Patrick showed me around before I made me reservation, explaining everything they offered. It was a little bit dirty but not horrible. There was hair in the sauna and in the corners of the hot tub room. I had an allergic reaction to something they were using in there and my eye swelled shut so I haven't been back to see if any of the other rooms were cleaner. more

i love this place. Today was my first time, and i will be back on the regular. Patrick is awesome. My friend who went with me bought a yearly membership. We both plan on returning to the sauna a few times a week. Highly recommended. more

The owner is rude. I left a message about making an appointment and he never called back. So the next time I did not leave a message. I called back later about a half an hour and he got mad saying that ""You cannot wait, I am busy doing stuff. And why did you call here several times?"" I only called twice. So I brushed that rude comment aside. The next day. I got a warning saying that I did not shower before I got in the tub. Saying his tub was dirty and he will have to charge me the cleaning fee if this happens again. First of all I did shower as instructed before I got in the tub. Do not say that I did not shower and not use soap, when I truly did. I have told many people to never go here. His message on my voicemail was so nasty and hateful. He will loose customers with his terrible customer service more

I love this place. My friends and I go there whenever we need hydrotherapy. Once I even went solo. It's fairly priced, the people are super cool and personable and it's clean. The tubs are hot, so buyer beware. If you don't lke a very hot tub you have to let them know well in advance. It's not fancy but the smell is usually nice due to incense or oil, and the guy at the register will ask you how you are before he asks you what you want. Make a reservation, because if you drive in they may be booked solid. I've never used the sauna, just the tub. They also sell lots of interesting things like mud mask, shower caps, drinks and scented oils. Pros: rejuvinating, calming, invigorating Cons: may cause lightheadedness more

Have actually had three contacts with Southfield Sauna and Tub. The first one was simply a drop in to see what the place was like. The guy at the desk (a very nice guy) took me around and showed me the entire facility and explained all of the services. The second visit was by my friend and I and we made reservations for the tub/sauna combination (reservations are good if you want to use the hot tub so that they can make sure the heat is on, especially if you go there earlier in the afternoon). The area, tub, shower, and sauna were all excellent with the exception of the light being off in the sauna. For our inconvenience, Patrick, the owner and masseur, gave us a bit off of the price. He was very kindly and professional in his response. He did say that we should have said something, or called for help, or come to the desk for assistance. We could have done so easily, even without dressing since we were the only ones there, but we didn't, we just enjoyed the tub more. On the third visit, I set an appointment for massage. Patrick and I had a great pre-massage discussion about some philosophical/spiritual matters and he proved to be a very interesting and intelligent and kindly guy. 'This was frosting on the cake that preceded a great massage, all professional and ethical. He has great technique and is skilled with some very deep therapeutic artistry. The whole experience (actually all three of them) has encouraged me to return for continuing services and I highly recommend that others check it out. Calm rushes through your body as walk inside this place. Staff is kind, friendly and cares about your experience. Smells of sandalwood fill the air, and there is peace here. Sit by the wood burning stove and relax as you prepare to enter your sauna for purification, prayer and cleansing. Great place for spiritual regeneration or just a great sauna. Massage is also offered at a reasonable price by a very experienced therapist (who happens to be the sauna owner) Massages are spiritual in nature and bring you back to yourself. What a great place to visit and leave awakened. Don't miss this hidden treasure! more
