Since i was fifteen my mom has been in out of hospitals. It is safe to say i have been to pretty much every hospital in San Antonio and surrounding counties. I have NEVER felt people give up so fast as they did at southeast baptist. To me if felt as if they were not treating my mother to get well, but as if they just accepted she was to die and to accommodate her until that time. They did not seem to have any caring the first two day she was there. Not until she was moved to the micu was it that we got any real facts and truth about her condition. When the time did come that she passed, they didn't even come out to tell us. We were sitting in the front lobby because the micu waiting room was full, they went to the micu waiting room and when we weren't there they just went back in, A family member of one of the patients came out and told us that they were calling us back there. Not until she had passed did the hospital seemed to show any concern. Still till this day we really don't know the the solid truth of what happened. They told us one thing and then contridicted it the next. We know the basic of what happened to her, but the rest of it was well it could be this and it might be that. The bottom line is that my mom went in there a sick women, who had already lost her legs, smoked her whole life, and had heart problems. The perfect person just to give up on in the eyes of a doctor. She left behind a loving family full of love for her and anger for the failure of the hospitals that played a role in her life in the last week.
