Best

I got wonderful service every time. I required their services. Dr. Kamjob is a wonderful vet and I trust him completely. I will be going there forever.

Worst

I took a cat in to be euthanized, a very painful experience naturally. I waited about 10 - 15 min and the vet didn't come in. I asked at the counter and learned he had, knowing he...

Best Vet Ever!!! 10/5/2009

What can I say about South Sacramento Pet Hospital. They are the best. I would not go anywhere else. The vets are the absolute best. They treat my animals just like a member of the family. My dogs get excited to go the "Doctor", now who can say that about their vet! The girls and techs are very nice and helpful. Pros: great prices, knowledgeable, nice staff more

Simply the Best 10/5/2009

I have been going to SSPH for over 15 years. Dr. Kamboj and Staff have become like family. The front staff is very nice, understanding and greet you with a smile. Dr. Kamboj is the best vet I have ever been to. I will never take any of my animals to anyone else. It is stressfull enough to have to go to the vet sometimes, and to have the Dr. and staff recognize you and your animals and rememeber their history is wonderful. I never have to give a background history. Their hours are great and I can usually get in at the time I request with very little wait once I arrive. Pros: Good prices, very nice, extreemly caring more

Great staff 10/3/2009

I have been a client with this hospital for several years and they have always treated me nicely. Every time I had an emergency with my pets they have always treated my pets quickly and all the staff is realy nice and comforting with me. I will always come back and I refer all my friends to them. Pros: Good prices more

Favorite Pet hospital 10/3/2009

NEVER AGAIN 9/4/2009

We have a white pittbull, was taken in diagnoses with mange , we attempted to give him over the counter or online treatments, did not work. So we took him back was seen by another doctor who said we will give him 5 shots every 2 weeks do not miss a shot. OK so we went back for the second shot 2 weeks over and was seen by another doctor, he said Kobe did not have mange anymore and was just allergic, gave him a steroid, needless to say Kobe lost all his belly hair and his nipples enlarged very bad. I am now looking for a good Vet to take him too. They might have good prices but not worth it, now my Male dog/puppy had bigger nipples than his sister. How embarrasing and is still red and scratchy , steroid did not help at ALL> Pros: good prices Cons: Terrible place more

WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE! 8/3/2009

My 3 year old cat became very ill. I brought her in and they kept her overnight. When I called to check on her, I felt I was bothering them. The only thing they could tell me was ""your cat is very sick"". I took her home the next day with IV treatments, medicine and food. They said it would take her up to 2 weeks to get better. She was worse when I brought her home. I took her to another vet and she was so bad she had to be put to sleep. So the final bill was 600.00 dollars and for what? They did nothing for her. The other vet looked at her records and said nothing was done for my cat except and IV and x-rays.\r \r The staff at the front desk...jeez don't start me there. A bunch of young girls in their teens who could care less about you or your pet. \r \r If you love your pets - don't bring them here! The only place I will go now is River City Cat Clinic. Great caring staff and will treat you and your pet the best. Even when the decision was made to put her down, they were amazing and so supportive. Cons: Rude staff, overpriced and unknowlegable doctor more

The worst place you can take your pet 8/3/2009

The Dr. is nice. Ok. But there are plent of nice Vets. I was treated so rudely but the front office staff I will never ever go back. They looked bored uninterested and downright hostile. It was disturbing and the people there are VERY VERY COLD. Usually I know people have bad days, but these two girls working in the front are so rude, he's gonna have to start giving away exams. Even when I was checking out, they never were nice to me when I asked questions. They were unorganized and really lacked any knowledge. Rude pencil pushers if you ask me. Pros: the dr was nice Cons: staff so rude that even if the dr is nice, I won't go back more

Front desk staff are terrible! 7/28/2009

The receptionist/front desk staff are very rude and do not show the least bit of compassion. I have been bringing my dog there since he was a puppy. He's 13 years old now. The staff prior to the renovations were awesome!! Especially Helena! My dog has a chronic condition and is on long term medication. I was always in there getting refills. She ALWAYS asked how my dog was doing. Since the new facility opened, they completely changed the staffing and I am so disappointed in the choice of people they have working there. They seem as if they could care less about you or your pet. I continue to go there because I am confident in the doctors but the front desk staff needs to be replaced, all of them! more

VERY DISRESPECTFUL STAFF 3/22/2009

THIS PLACE IS VERY COLD THE RECEPTIONIST THERE IS VERY RUDE AND HAS NO COMPASSION FOR THE PETS JUST LIKE THE DOCTORS ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY TO PAY FOR THERE SO CALL NEW RENAVATIONS THE DOCTORS THERE HAVE NO COMPASSIONS FOR THERE PETS ITS JUST A MONEY MAKING MACHINE FOR THEM I BET THEY DONT EVEN OWN PETS THEMSELFS BECAUSE IF THEY DO i REALLY FEEL SORRY FOR THEM NEVER EVER WILL GO BACK TO THEM AGAIN. BAD BAD PLACE. GREEDY, MONEY HUNGY PUT IT THIS WAY IF YOUR DOG NEEDED CARE AND YOU DONT HAVE $$$$$$ Pros: THE WORST IN TOWN Cons: PAYING MORE FOR THE NEW RENOVATIONS more

custumer 1/29/2009

I feel the same at poor staff:\r The staff is cold and I feel like its all about the money. I'm not sure I trust the vets either. There new facility is nice, but does that mean I will have to pay more more

poor staff 11/1/2008

I have been going to this vet for over 30 years alway had great service. It will cost me $320.00 to remove a bb from my cat.\r \r I trust the vets but the front office staff is very cold and uncaring. No compassion for our pets at all or us as pet owners it is just a money thing without regard to our pets more

THE VERY BEST!!! 9/20/2008

We have brought our pets to this office for well over ten years, on and off. The off being when we moved from the area for several years. Not only is the cost of the visits,ie. shots routine exams, the most afforadable, the care and service is second to none.\r One late night after I gave my min pin a beef rib bone (like a knucklehead) we had to take him at 2 in the morning to another vet who was 24 hours in the pocket area very upscale, the first question they ask me was "how much could I afford to spend" I wanted to punch them in the nose! They said it could be over a thousand dollars! I told them I was a client of south sac animail hosp. could they give him something until they opened, they charged us 165 bucks for some liquid that calmed his vomiting. I took him in the am to s. sac where they took him, i.v. all day, in the back saved my dogs life 65 dollars. the point being it is not about the money always. more

State of the Art Pet Facility 9/15/2008

I could not disagree more with the idea that anyone would have received poor or unsatisfactory care and service at South Sacramento Pet Hospital. This facility has been my personal choice for the exclusive care of my beloved pets for over ten years. Never once in that time have my pets ever received less than superior, caring and compassionate service. My pets are more than just pets; they are my family. While I am truly sorry for anyone's loss of a pet, I do know that euthanasia is a very personal and heart-breaking decision. Over the years I have had to make that decision. I would never consider another facility to handle this. I also understand the need to wait occasionally to be seen in order to handle an emergency situation. I have gone in with an emergency in the past and had to simply let the staff know of the emergency and was seen right away. If I have to wait for an emergency to be handled, that is OK, too. Because it means saving the life of someone's pet. Recently, South Sa more

Exceptional Service 9/11/2008

I've been going to South Sacramento Pet Hospital for over ten years. During that time, the staff and doctors have gone out of their way to help me with my cat rescue. Their care and concern about the hundreds of cats I've brought in over the years has carried over to my own animals. Euthanasia is never easy, but I find the compassion and caring the staff and doctors exhibit when I have to euthanize my cats to be very comforting. I have never been made to wait more than a few minutes for either an emergency (usually I get seen immediately) or a regular visit. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital to everyone. more

POOR POOR SERVICE & UNCARING VETS 7/29/2008

I took a cat in to be euthanized, a very painful experience naturally. I waited about 10 - 15 min and the vet didn't come in. I asked at the counter and learned he had, knowing he had an euthanization, left the building. I had to wait while he was called back. He apologized, belatedly. Another time, I took a cat in to be seen by this same vet. Someone came in after me with advertising about the vet's new building he was completing. He stopped to talk to her for some time, ignorning his paying clients. Same vet. I've gone in with an appt and been told by the front desk "there'll be a good 15 minute wait - the vet just went into NON-emergency surgery". I'm early? I asked. No,but he's the only one here. Then he comes out and said of course I'll take you. Apparently, no communication with the front desk about procedures in the back. The attitude is distinctly cool and uncaring and inferior. The vet had the gall to tell me (same vet) that I had to give them a LITTLE bit of a break. POOR POOR service and getting worse. Pros: CHEAP RATES (NOW I KNOW WHY). CLEAN, CONVENIENT HOURS. Cons: POOR SERVICE AND VERY UNCARING more

Lousy Customer Service! 5/9/2008

I was disappointed with the level of customer service here. \r \r I was told that my cat's abscess was an emergency and that he would be treated that afternoon, only to find that the surgery was done the next morning. That meant an overnight boarding charge.\r \r I picked up my cat the next afternoon and received no input from the doctor. I even asked that he call me, with no result. I was left with the receptionist telling me to administer one dose of anti-biotic per day even though the vial label said twice a day.\r \r The vial of antiseptic was smaller then the plastic syringe so that it could not be closed properly.\r \r I was never told if the sutures in his paw were absorbable or to be removed.\r \r It is a big, new building that never seemed busy. Never more than one other customer over two visits. With a front desk staff of three people I never felt that I was getting personalized treatment. Even calling the office repeatedly within a 24 hour period still got me the same, ""and the last name is?"".\r \r All I need from a vet is professional care and, most importantly, information to ease my worried mind!\r \r It is people like this that make me thank God for Dr. Menke at the Franklin Animal Hospital! Pros: Big new building Cons: poor office staff, leaves you in the dark, no follow up. more
