This campground is set at 5,000 feet elevation along the south fork of the Tieton River, less than a mile from where it empties into Rimrock Lake. This is often a good spot for trout fishing and swimming. By traveling a bit farther south on Tieton River Road, you can see the huge Blue Slide, an enormous prehistoric rock and earth slide that has a curious blue tinge to it.
Campsites, facilities: There are 15 sites for tents, trailers or RVs up to 16 feet long. Picnic tables are provided. Vault toilets and firewood are available, but there is no piped water. Leashed pets are permitted. Boat docks are nearby.
Location: From Yakima on Interstate 82, drive 13 miles northwest on state Route 12 to Naches. Continue 22.5 miles west on state Route 12, then drive four miles south on county Road 1200. Turn south on Forest Service Road 1203 and drive one-half mile to the campground.
