2012 Ford Focus Is JUNK!! 9/23/2012

I purchased a 2012 Ford Focus in June 2011. This was the worst car I have ever owned. I turned in my 2006 Honda Accord EXL Coupe to use as a down payment. I ended up paying $26,000 for a car that had very few options. Yes, it was partly my fault for being screwed over so badly. The first day the computer froze up. Took it back and told the sales guy that I felt the car was over priced for what I got. He said I got a great deal. The transmission did not feel right from the beginning but they said that was just "...the way it was..." There was a noise in the suspension. They drove it and said nothing was wrong with it. I kept insisting there was a very obvious noise. Finally they admitted there was and took over two weeks to fix the problem. I again complained about the jerky, unresponsive transmission but everyone said that is just "the way these cars are..." What BS! The computer froze up and had to be fixed three times...The final time I went in to complain about the transmission I was told there was just nothing more they could do. A month later I went to Seattle Hyundai on Aurora. These guys are the nicest group of car dealers I have ever met! Unbelievable service! I am now the owner of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT and this car is everything that damn Focus should have been but was NOT! Smooth and fast transmission...Roomier, better A/C, better sound system, backup camera, fantastic full roof sunroof....I called Ford Motor Company. I tried and tried to talk to the General Manager at Sound Ford. I was just put-off constantly. They have no shame! I only got $16,500 on a trade in because the Focus transmission is a piece of crap. This means that I lost all the value in my Honda as a trade-in. Sound Ford owes me at least part of the money I lost on my Honda and I guess it is time to find a good lawyer! more

dishonest at every turn 7/2/2012

They attempted a bait and switch, lied about Costco auto programming stating its 4% over invoice but wouldn't show the paperwork Costco said they needed. They tried to talk fast at every turn and the paperwork had thousands added to it. Glad we walked away, unfortunately wasted 2.5 hours there. Avoid at all costs. Had a great experience at Titus Ford in Tacoma. more

Untrustworthy-wasted our time 11/11/2011

Salesmen were not truthful about the car ad and inventory. They told me that the vehicle in the ad was sold (when it wasn't) then tried to sell me something else. The next day, I called about the same car ad and this time they told me that the car was available. When I got there they couldn't find the car so I went home. The ad for the same car (with the same vin #) ran for another three weeks!!! After much persistence of trying to find a good deal, we finally saw the äctual" car and found out that this "new" car had been damaged during delivery, so they tried to sell us something else. I guess the "ad" car was being used as "bait" to lure people like me in!!! What a bunch of scheming LIARS!!!! I finally gave up and went to Kirkland instead; we paid about $1500K above Sound F's ad price, but it was worth it. We were in and out w/a new truck in two hours!!!! more

Sound Ford supposed "internet price" 2/18/2011

I cannot believe they so blatantly lie on their website. They list "retail" price of a 2011 Explorer as $49,999 and then say the special "internet" price is $47600. Howver not being to swift they have the window sticker available and it shows the MSRP is the same price as their supposed "internet" price! So actual retail is closer to $44000, plus it is a early build Explorer and if you search the net they are having issues with quality on the ones built in November and December. I just hate it when sales people try to rip people off. more

Lying Salesmen 11/20/2010

Good: Nothing.. Bad: They say "we have a deal" just come back.... then they say we will honor and guarantee whatever price autotrader comes back with for your trade-in -- then you come back and say do we have a deal - and they say -no, we don't want your trade-in. They lie, play games and are dishonest sleazes!!!. Other: Do NOT go to Sound Ford in Renton they will rip you off and are dishonest!. more

The salesmen are professional and care about the client that walks through the door.I feel as though I am really listen to as we try to find a car that best fits my needs.Great service is ongoing even after the purchase.I have been pleased with my last two purchases there.I would reccomend anyone who needs a car or truck to give this dealership a chance, you won't regert it! more

You couldn't do worse 4/24/2010

Liars and Crooks!!! Avoid this place like the plague. I was so livid after leaving here, I had to wait 2 weeks to write this, otherwise it would been heavily censored. As my warranty is still valad, I am entitled to a loner car. I was told on the phone "of course, we'll have one available for you". I dropped my car off to have the radio repared (cd does not eject), and some electrical problems with my Focus. No loaner car. This was the first lie. They said these problems will be covered by the warranty. An hour of waiting....."we can't get to your car today afterall, you'll have to leave it with us". With no loner car, I didn't have a way to get back home. I had to make my way to the Tuckwila Light-Rail to get home. They called me the next day, and said nothing is covered by the warranty, but maybe the electrical problem is, but to diagnose it would cost $300 non-refundable. I said "NO, I"ll be in to pick it up." After getting a ride from a friend down there, they charged me $135 to just bring the car in. They had to look at it to make sure that yes indeed the cd player doesn't eject. Some packages in the back seat were strewn around and dumped out. There was black grease smudges on the back window. When I tried to confront them about all this, they made themselves out to be the vicitim. Didn't listen to anything I had to say. I realized I wasn't getting anywhere. They had this system of avoidance down pat. I'd give negative 10 stars if I could. more

Awful! 10/15/2009

I bought a car from them years ago. I noticed that the interior was damp, and put a clause in the sales contract that leaks had to be fixed. Well, the seal around the sun roof was bad and water came in like a waterfall when I took it to a carwash. I took it in, and it sat there for two months before they even lifted a finger to fix it. Which they did wrong, so after opening the sunroof once, the seal pulled out of place and it leaked again. It took them another month to fix it. While it was in for another service, they put it back out on the used car lot, when the service was done! Picking it from being serviced, and it rolls up and rap is blasting from it. The porter had changed all 12 FM stations to the rap station! He complimented the factory sound system but blew out a speaker! Body shop lost interior items and failed to order replacement parts until I brought the car in to have the parts put on. Service manager stopped even acknowledging my presence when I had a problem, I had seen him so many times! Talked to one of the owners about these problems and more. He gave me his 'personal' cell number. I had more problems with service, and called the 'personal' number only to get the receptionist at the front desk in the showroom. The same showroom I was calling from! The other owner had signs all around the store, saying if you had any problems to call him. However, he doesn't talk to customers!? Lie after lie! I can only wonder why they had to move to the smaller lot across the street after rebuilding their showeroom... more

We were told that we were financed for a 150 ford truck..keep in mind we signed all the papers were told financing went thru.. then 5 days later.. I get a call from Dominic in Financing dept a sound ford and they could not get us approved for a car loan... What a JOKE I told him.. we had signed papers got financed?? and then 5 days later.. told we were not financed. DO NOT BUY FROM SOUND FORD IN RENTON... A BUNCH OF LIARS!!!!!!! more

Wasted 2 hours of my time! 1/25/2009

They called with a too good to be true offer. During the sale I stressed that this price is $5k too low. After 1 1/2 hour he starts trying to negotiate from a way high number.Takes another 1/2 hour to get my keys back. Managers were in on it. Totally lame. more

Poor service 11/25/2008

I found a car online and called in, set up an appointment for later that evening. Within 3 hours of setting up that appointment the salesman called me 5 times to confirm and make sure I was going to make it. When I got to Sound Ford and took the vehicle on a test drive things seemed to be going well. Once we got back to the location the salesman completely changed. He was not listening to one thing I was saying about what I wanted. overall POOR SERVICE more

New 08 Focus $7941 11/20/2008

I came in with a advertisement for a new focus for $7941. They only had one so i got there at 7am and waited for sales to open at 9am. by 10am I was driving home in my new focus. Sound ford was great to me and there prices were the best. more

These people date back to the pre consumer-protection laws, e.g bait and switch. Salesman was a high-pressure, promise- all-and-deliver-nothing kind of salesman. They advertised cars they did not have for sale. If your rating system had less than 1 star, I would use that. more

Too stressful, doesn't listen to customers 10/15/2005

They tried to talk us into things we didn't want, i.e. leasing, long term loans, older vehicles, and a truck that had more than we want. We were very clear about what we wanted. We were there forever and got nowhere and they kept switching people on us. We finally left because we were so frustrated and felt like we hadn't gotten anywhere! more

If you express interest in a car you will immediately find yourself in the middle of a scene that could be entitled "sudden popularity in car creates mini riot in lot". The Ford people will send out one of their own, often a woman to feign interest in the car. She will immediately say "what a great car" get in and drive away. The nice man showing you around will immediately start talking about how she is so interested in the car but that you can definitely still have that car because you were here first-you just need to buy it right now. This is just one of many touching scenes enacted daily at Sound Ford. So if you are incredibly bored, go to Sound Ford. If you want to purchase a used car without the game go elsewhere. more
