Hoogie rolls w/ butter 3/3/2010

This was the first time back to Sorrento's in 15 years...and now I know why. It starts with the hoagie rolls served with butter in packages. Then the chicken noodle soup that was watered down Campbell?s without the chicken! Maybe they needed it for the chicken parm? The mussels were over salted and small considering the price. The stuffed crabs were inedible and the chicken saltimbocca had Italian hot ham instead of prosciutto and no cheese with sliced mushrooms with no flavor. At least the wine was good however, I bought that. Pros: At least it's BYOB Cons: Food more

Love this place 7/19/2009

The food here is amazing, their sauce is simple but perfect. The chicken sorrento is made with the perfect marsala wine, a dolllup of sauce and some provolone cheese. A side of sauteed mushrooms and heaping side of spinach accompany this. I always choose pasta over salad as my side and it compliments the meal perfectly. Its BYO and we always bring a great red to enjoy with our meal. Fresh, hot, crusty bread is served, and if you get a salad the house italian is delish!! The servers are great too. Meals may take a tad longer than some places that serve junk, but you know these dishes are made fresh per order.. You must go if you are looking for new Italian, and those of us that already know it are lucky for it!! Pros: Food, the girls, family atmosphere more

Excellent food, marginal service, no ambience 2/17/2009

The food here is terrific and the prices are reasonable, but service is rough, rushed and frequently neglectful. The dining room has no warmth to it in terms of decor or heat -- which is almost absent -- in winter. Because the food is so good at Sorrento's, I often spare myself the discomfort of dining in and I frequently take-out. Many dishes are fabulous, but eggplant parmigiana is one of my favorites. Excellent! The accompanying salad is crisp, varied and sizable. The bread (does this come from the Conshohocken Bakery?) is excellent an they include half a torpedo with take-out. Pros: Excellent food Cons: Rushed, sometimes inefficient service. Cold dining room in winter. No ambience. more

I went on a night they were having a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The place was packed. The food was terrific and the service was great. I will go again. more

Everything on the menu is amazing 12/10/2007

This is the only place to go to get real Italian food. You'll wait a while for a table, but it's definitely worth it. Pros: everything. more

First time & I'm hooked! 6/4/2006

We moved here from NY a few months ago, and couldnt find our ""spot"". After hearing about this place from a few clients, we decided to try it out last Sat night. One word...Heaven. There was about a 35 min wait, but so worth it. Apparently the servers are sisters and it's a family-owned and run business. They seemed to know all of their customers by name and by the time we left, they knew ours. We had roasted peppers, tomato salad with fresh hot bread. We had veal dishes, which by the way, the portions was so big, we had the rest for lunch on Sun. We didn't know the menu and our waitress spent so much time explaining the dishes in detail. We felt at home, loved the food, and everything about the place. For those of you that don't about Sorrentos, you are missing out!! MUST TRY THIS GEM!!!! Pros: Food, Service, Service Cons: NOT A ONE more

Best Kept Secret 6/3/2006

I have been coming to this restaurant since my parents brought me here 15 years ago. The service is outstanding. its a family business and i feel at home every time i walk in the door. there is sometimes a wait on the weekends, but it is well worth it. the veal marsala is always consistently tender! the atmosphere is friendly, romantic and always a pleasure. i know i will introducing my children to the family and the terrific food. Pros: Service, Hours, Food Cons: People that dont know, about it more

food is good but the service is bad 1/7/2005

We sat and waited for our waitress to take our order while the staff talked to each other. Then again we had to wait a considerable amount of time for our food while the staff again were busy talking to each other. We've frequented this place a few times and liked it but after this service, I seriously doubt I will ever go there again. more
