When the Metreon opened up a few years ago, it was nothing less than the shopping experience of the future. Stepping in through the doors felt like you were walking onto a space station with the lighting and pvc inspired architecture. Everything was interactive. These days, the place is looking a little worn around the edges. The shopping experience of the future is a lot like shopping everywhere else. I’m not quite as enthralled by the magic anymore. Oh well, the theater is still a good place to see a new release, if you can stomach paying $10 a ticket. more

great hangout spot 4/17/2006

I visited San Francisco on vacation and stopped by the Metreon. It was interesting -- arcade, restaurants and movie theater combined into one. I'm not that interested in arcades but I can see why it would be appealing to others. The movie theater is huge and very, very nice. The Metreon building itself is very cool -- ultramodern and outfitted with neon lights and interactive displays. more

looks like Japan 4/8/2006

Not too long ago, I brought a Japanese friend of mine to this place, and she commented that it reminded her of home! Right then and there, I knew this was the hotspot. I am always able to find cool gadgets here as well, such as the nice Playstation backpack/lunchsacks, and even the hard to get Coro dogs. more

taking in a show a the metreon 3/20/2006

If its a special movie, I really like to go watch it at the Metreon. They offer 16 theatres featuring amazing sound system and huge screens and comfortble seats. It does cost more to see a movie here than other theatres, but the building is really amazing. If you appreciate architecture, you'll love it here. They offer a more upscale food court with all types of ethnic foods. And on top of that they have plenty of places for you to play the latest video games and check out the latest gadgets. more

you won't be bored 11/10/2005

metreon is a great place for anyone to hang out. they have a movie theater inside if you feel like watching a new release. The playstation store is there, which allows people to sit down and play games. There are a lot of kids who play there on the weekends. They also have great restaurants there and a couple of starbucks more

The best place for an evening of Fun 9/3/2005

The metreon has everything. The biggest feature is the movie theater, which has state of the art sound systems and huge screens, with an extensive tasty menu offering. But thats not all thats at the metreon - you can cruise through sony's latest cool gadgets and gizmos, eat at the food court, walk through the gardens, and even go ice skating. Its the perfect place for a night of fun, or even a fun date location. Centrally located to downtown san francisco. more

A little overhyped, but a marvel at it's structure 8/20/2005

The hype was on when the Metreon was built. It was suppose to be one of the main attractions in San Francisco. However, the times that I've went, I've marveled at there building, and also there neat gadgets. They however, along with everything else is very pricey, and not for those who are on a tight budget. I would recommend them if you want to watch a movie, as the Imax plex is a great way to use two to three hours of your time. The retro part of there arcades is great, but way pricey. more

neat store, but wouldn't buy anything there 8/20/2005

the Sony metreon is a neat store that has everything Sony and a little bit more. you can look at their latest cameras, tv, etc. if that doesn't interest you, on the first floor there is a game room that is always filled with teens. if that doesn't interest you, there are several shops and restaurants, like a jelly belly store, starbucks, noodle shop, and cake stand. if still, if none of that interests you, on the third floor there is a movie theater showing all of the recent movies, plus an imax theater. more

Sony store 8/9/2005

The Sony store is located inside Metreon which is found Downtown San Francisco right across from the Moscone centers. They have lots of cool gadgets to play with from Sony. Many teens go into the store to play with the latest and greatest video games out from Sony for Playstation 2 and other such video game consols. If you like those type of things, you'll love the Sony store in Metreon. The games might be a bit pricey but its a fun place to bring the kids to enjoy the games. Come on by when you are in the area and enjoy a movie at the Metreon theater while you're at it! more

this place is amazing, with the beautiful park in the back, cafe, and playstation store in the lobby, shops in the 2nd floor, theater in the 3rd floor, and arcade in the 2nd floor, this is a building with everything u need to entertain ur self. there are shops that will amaze u with anime, toys, gaming, and food. there are also a bowling alley on the top floor. so this is a non stop entertainment center. this is a must visit if u are in san francisco. more
