Worst

Here last year & 8 mos ago. Screws came loose. Problem was result of prior repair by Smokey's.

happy at first 5/2/2015

Torsion spring broke on garage door, tech came fairly quickly, installed "upgraded" spring on right side to handle my heavy door. ((Strange since original size spring lasted 12 years). Anyway, all was great until several days later when garage door closed $@!#%-eyed. One side was a foot higher than the other. I go inside the garage to find cable had unwrapped from the spool. I prop door and wind back around the pulley so door closes properly. Call Smokeys and they are irate because could wound up cable and should have called them. Explain it happened after their work hours and wasn't going to leave my garage accessible overnight. They refuse to come out and readjust or check the door. Find a neighbor who works for a competing company, he readjusts the tension and door works great. Tool him 10 min to fix. Fast forward 3 1/2 years later and new spring breaks. Smokey only has 3 year warranty! Paid top price for these "upgraded" springs that didn't last 1/4 the life of previous springs. more

Great job of repairing & installing new garage door opener. 4/8/2015

Outstanding service! 3/15/2015

Austin made the service call to diagnose a noisy/jerky garage door mechanism. I had pre-ordered nylon rollers with high-end steel ball bearings, knowing that the rollers were part of the problem. Austin was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly The work was performed efficiently, without any wasted time or effort. The door is working flawlessly and is virtually silent! Nice! Will recommend Smokey's (and Austin) to all. more

Garage Door off tracks 12/2/2014

Called American Home Shield for the garage door repair. Smokeys Garage Door was the company provided. When they arrived onsite we were told it was not covered under AHS and would cost an additional $350.00. When the technician left the garage door openers no longer worked in the cars and outside panel. Called to notify Smokeys and they said to put in another call to AHS and there would be additional charges. Unacceptable. more

Zach provided me with a very fime exp[erience 6/27/2014

This was the best service call I have had from Smokey's and I have several good ones. Zach knew what he was doing did not waste time. He suggested installing new rollers, but did not push the issue. He is very knowledgeable about his trade and I would recommend him to my neighbors. I hope he stays with Smokey's Garage Doors for a long time. more

Now for the rest of the story.... on Sunday I called another door company and a rep arrived later in the afternoon. He looked at the unit and immediately said I needed everything replaced for a cost of $399.00 plus his time installing and taxes. I asked if the motor could be replaced and he advised that it would cause binding in the unit and he wouldn't advise it. I told him that I had experience rebuilding motors and thought that would suffice.... instead he got angry that I wouldn't replace the unit.... I told him to write up a bill. I paid him and asked him to leave. Monday I called Smokeys... more

Needed a door opener for single care garage. Kevin (owner) himself answered my call. After a quick briefing I had a fair bid on exactly what I was looking for and an installer was on his way within minutes. The installation was prompt and professional. Start to finish 2 hours. Wayne Dalton garage door torque tube failed. Smokeys responded within an hour after the phone call for service. Replaced the torque tube with a conventional door spring, so-called torque conversion. The job was completed cleanly and smoothly in under 2 hours. Well done, and no problems at this time about 3 months after repair. more
