Could be Worse 7/2/2010

I was referred by a friend that owns a business a few stores down. I would totally come here for happy hour if there were more people in this place. The drinks were a good price, and the calamari that I had was really good. I don't like cocktail sauce so I asked for marinara and the cook gave me some marinara meat sauce that was amazing with my calamari! The waitress was nice, she told me on certain nights they have a DJ and play Rock Band. Not the best place for trying to meet new people but good for drinks after work with co-workers. Pros: Good Happy Hour Prices Cons: No customers more

Not good at all 8/16/2009

Was here last Saturday Night cause of a Flyer left on my car and they had some speed dating thing with some cheesy girls giving advice. Anything to bring in people I guess. The DJ Started playing and he was good, I enjoyed the mixes, great clublike music and he made it fun. He should probably be at a better club cause this place really bites! The atmosphere just isn't very good. Its more like an arcade with his games laying around and the owner seems to be high or not all there. I think he is a bartender who decided to get his own place and has no idea what he is doing. Don't come! Better places on Ventura or anywhere else. Pros: Music, bout it. Cons: Owner seems high. No Parking. more

Now it's a place called smiles 4/9/2009

The Greek place is gone. In it's place is a new multifunction place called smiles that hosts everything from punk bands to stand up comedians. They have food and a decent happy hour. more

Not authentic Greek food, no customers even on a Saturday night 2/18/2007

My husband and I thought we would try Greek Nights to celebrate our Anniversary. The outside looks quite impressive and it advertises as authentic greek food with a live band and bellydancers. Well upon our arrival at 8:15p.m., on a Saturday night, there were no customers so I thought maybe we made our reservations too early. The polite hostess said that people had reservations beginning at 8:30p.m. We started out with cocktails to pass the time and around 8:45p.m. we ordered dinner. Still no one else besides us, the waiter and two band members were in site. When our entree arrived it was not Greek food but was middle eastern and the vegis were probably frozen and microwaved. At 9:30p.m. a few people arrived, they were definitely friends and family members associated with the restraurant, they did not stay long or order any meals. The total bill was over a hundred dollars for two coctails, two appetizers, and two of the above described entrees. The waiter was polite and friendly. If you want good authentic greek food and a lively environment go to the Great Greek. I was very disappointed by the quality of the food, and thelack of entertainment at Greek Nights Pros: nice waiters Cons: high price, no customers, food was poor quality more

Too expensive for what you get 1/12/2007

What a rip-off! The service was slow. The food was good, but not superior to much cheaper middle eastern eateries in the valley. On top, non-alcoholic drinks are tiny and $4 a pop. They also charge an additional $12 "service charge" which kicked our bill to over $100 for hummus, pita, feta, salad, some dips and a kabob. And the "night-club" was a middle-age man singing euro-pop songs with a live band. You will be better off going to the Great Greek two blocks away...better food, service and tons of fun. more

It's authentic but... 8/28/2006

Kind of a rip off...They have a meal for $35. but two people need to order it and it's $35 per person. It's side dishes and some of them never came. If you want to spend min. $70 on hummus, babaganush, pita bread, feta cheese and some chicken soulvaki then this place is for you. Also if you plan on ordering soda then you'll get it in an 8oz glass and they don't do refills. Pros: Good food Cons: Too expensive more

THE Happening Place 6/26/2006

This place ROCKS! I can honestly say it is the best and happening place in L.A. If you havent been there, youre missing out. You feel like youre in Greece. The food is excellent, service is the best, and the atmosphere is amazing. You feel like you walk into paradise once you enter. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED. Pros: THE BEST PLACE EVER Cons: NONE more
