The Scene
Ski Sundown has bragging rights to the largest snow grooming fleet in the region. With twice-daily grooming, skiers will always find trails fresh and ready. Ski Sundown's 15 trails check in at 53 percent beginner, drawing those seeking variety rather than just a bunny hill. Fourteen of the runs are lit at night. While this beginners' haven can get crowded, lines are cut by three triple chairs and one double that have a lift capacity of 6,600 skiers per hour.
The Slopes
Of course, any area with over 50 percent beginner runs is filled with lesson opportunities. Their list of lessons and clinics reads like a menu. Snowboarders can also learn here. And while some areas force you to squeeze group lessons into only two time choices a day, Ski Sundown offers four time choices on weekends and three on weekdays.
