Editorial review from Citysearch 7/23/2012

Mondays has a Taste of Italy theme for dinner. Choice range from salads, appetizers, Italian sub sandwiches, soups, entrees like Osso Bucco Gremolata, pizza, carving station, and desserts.\r \r The Osso Bucco was delicious. It was meaty and roasted to perfection. The bone marrow was the best part, creamy and rich with flavor from the bone. Definitely go for second and thirds on this one. Thumbs up!\r \r Chilled on ice, peel and eat shrimp (all that your heart desires) with cocktail sauce for dipping. You'll pay at least twice as much for a seafood buffet on the Strip that includes shrimp. Thumbs up!\r \r The seafood paella (which is more Spanish than Italian) was chocked full of squid and mussels. It's a simple dish but packed full of flavor. The seafood itself flavored the rice with the green onion and bay leaf as support. Definitely worth a second trip! Thumbs up!\r \r Last, but not least, the desserts bar. They had some of their staples of mini éclairs, mini fruit tarts, cakes and pies. But since it was Italian-themed, cannolis were on the menu. The pastry shells were perfectly baked. The cheese filling was sweet, but a bit too thick and heavy. The chocolate chips made it more decadent and delicious. Go for seconds, if you have room. Thumbs up! more

Bougainvillea is terrible... 2/12/2009

I have never had a decent meal there, even while drunk! Their steaks taste like they're\r boiled and then thrown on the grill for a bit. The burgers have no taste, the prime rib tastes\r like a tough, boiled, tasteless piece of meat. The one redeeming factor is the desserts.\r The chocolate cake is great, I suppose its not made on premises! The staff is quite slow\r and they constantly stare at the table looking for a tip. more

avoid it it really is Terrible Lousy Service ...lousy Food 12/15/2008

Living here in Vegas for a almost a year and never had been\r there to eat.\r We were going for the steak at Ellis Island Casino;but the kitchen was short order only on monday...I forgot.{by the way $7 for a steak, baked potato, salad, bread and a microbrewery beer or microbrewed rootbeer}\r So we..ok I said to my wife let's try that special $9.99 for 1lb steak dinner says it comes with a beer too!!......well first the waiter tells us before we even ask...""no substitutions on the \r beer""...then no salad ...that's extra....no bread...that's extra.\r but to top it off a burned piece of sinewy maybe 7-8 oz of who knows what cut.My wife thought she would be safe ordering\r the teriyaki bowl....well that came with frozen veges...how nice!!!bahhh!!!and tasted like old socks...and with bone fragments in it....the place sucks....waiter never asked how everything was at alll....never came to check on us....he gave the check to my wife ..even though I had done the ordering...\r \r overall on scale from 1 to 10 a 1 and the one is because the beer was a cold coors..in a glass...whopeee!!!\r lousy service....lousy food\r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r \r more

Avoid at all costs 5/15/2008

Hotel lived up to its name. Incredibly dark and dreary. The world's most inept burglar could get into hallways from outside or from casino (no security). Room was dingy, bathroom tiny. PLUS we came back to the room late to discover there had been no maid service. NONE. We called the front desk to complain -- they said housekeeping was gone for the night but they would send up more towels. About 15 minutes later, a woman arrived with ONE towel. We asked for more towels but she did not speak a word of \r English. Upon checkout we asked they make an adjustment on the bill for all the trouble we had -- and they said we had gotten a good rate so don't complain about it. Terrible's is truly TERRIBLE. Pros: Cheap price Cons: Horrible and snotty service, terrible security more

Breakfast buffet is pretty darn good. 9/2/2007

Their breakfast buffet is pretty darn good. At $4.99/adult and kids $2.99, they have your usual breakfast fare and a little more. An omelet station as well as a waffle station means you can get made to order omelets and waffles. Drinks are included in that low price. more

Prime Rib Special is Worth The money 4/25/2007

I usually go to Terrible's for their Prime Rib Special 9.99 in their restaurant, nice cut of prime rib, baked potato, salad. Great Value for the money. If it is busy, be prepared to wait a while for your food. The servers their are definately overworked but still manage to be cordial. Their Buffet food is ""Terrible"" though so don't even think about eating there. They often send me free buffet comps and the last one was so bad, I now just throw them away when they send them. Pros: Prime Rib Special Cons: Buffet ""Terrible"" more

Cheapest food in town 11/19/2006

OK, I'll admit, I love a food bargain, so let's get that out of the way.\r \r Sign up for the Terrible's players club, and you qualify for virtually unlimited 2-for-1 offers at their buffet and the Bougainvillea Cafe. Neither are haute cuisine, but what do you expect when two can do a champagne buffet on Sunday for under $10?\r \r The buffet's pretty standard fare, about like what you'd expect from Shoney's or medium-quality diner food, so don't expect too much except lots of food, and (on Sunday) unlimited little plastic champagne glasses with cheap champagne. They do omelets to order every day but Sunday (waffles to order on Sunday). \r \r Bougainvillea's main draw is the advertised $7.99 prime rib dinner, which, surprisingly is pretty darned good. It's a 10-ounce cut (or you can get a less-tasty 16-ounce bone-in T-bone), salad (or soup), potato, vegetable, rolls and a mug of draft beer...all for the aforementioned $7.99. You don't have to enroll in the player's club, just come on in. \r \r My only complaint (and I've been there several times) is that the service, once you're seated is inexplicably uneven and slow. Pros: Cheap Cons: Buffet not great, Cafe very good value more

they sure do have the right name !! a ruined vacation !! 10/29/2006

after a long 6hr flight from boston and a two hr delay .all i wanted was my bed to sleep in, when i arrived at the hotel it was about 3:00am ,went to check in and i was told sorry we over booked we dont have a room for you! i told him i allready payed for my room through travelocity! what do you mean you over booked! all he had to say was i cant help you. now i was on my 25th hr without sleep and a little bit more than angry and i asked for the manager, and he said i am the manager!so i asked him if i could use his pc so i could find a room and he said NO! are you kidding!! no? he did not even try to help at all ! just a sorry too bad sleep on a bench for four nights , not my problem!!so i had to leave and i guess it was a really busy night in vegas because most all of the hotels were booked solid so at 6:30 am i finally found a room at the venetian for $325.00 a night, i still have not been credited back my charges from the hotel that i did not get to stay at!!!! Cons: horrible horrible service more

Thurs nite brkfast club 9/16/2004

I can tell you you won't be disappointed on the cheap selections for late night breakfasts. See if you can get Chris to wait on you~what an entertaining waitress! The long wait due to being so busy at this time of the night was made much more easier with Chris as our group waitress. Pros: huge portions, cheap eats, pancakes GREAT! more

Terrible's GREAT Cheap Eats 7/18/2004

This place is GREAT for LARGE more-than-you-can-eat portions, at VERY reasonable prices. Service is good and friendly, too. Also, their buffett is pretty good, especially if you have a two-for-one coupon it's WELL worth it. AND you can take the bones home for your dog--as long as you really do have a dog and all your taking is bones! Store/gift shop has great prices and wonderful assortment, too. GREAT for getting those gifts to take back home AND for buying stuff for yourself--snacks, drinks, mags, cigs, you name it. We LOVE IT! Pros: LARGE Portions, Inexpensive, Friendly service Cons: , Small Aisles, difficult to navigate more
