Within 5 minutes of walking into this business, the owner kicked me out of the store and said she did not want my business. It was obvious from the beginning that she did not want to work with me or educate me on how the sign making business worked (i.e., why it would take 3 weeks to make my signs or why she couldn't do the artwork for my logo) and when I asked if what I was asking for was too complicated, she told me to get out of the store and said that I didn't know the difference between being too busy and being too complicated. All I was trying to do was figure out the easiest way to make up three different signs and she was clearly overwhelmed (she stated 3 times within five minutes how busy she was and at first told me it would take 2 weeks, then lengthened it to 3 weeks). Her abrasiveness convinced me that I needed to go elsewhere and I told her that she made it clear that she did not want to do the work. I was so stupified by her treatment that I went back into the store to ask who the owner was, to which she replied that she was and started yelling at me about how more expensive signs take as much time to make as cheaper signs. I told her that she was being terribly rude and all she had to do was explain the differences to me instead of throwing me out of her store, to which she closed the door in my face. I'm still upset by this experience and have never been treated so shabbily in my life. My business is about customer service and I would NEVER treat anyone the way she did, no matter how ignorant they are about my business. I must have offended her with my question about the job being complicated and she took it as a personal attack. The second sign company I went to is able to turn around my job within a week and, if necessary, can draw up my artwork for me. They spent a fair amount of time showing me the different products and reassured me that what I was looking for was well within bounds and not complex at all.
