Charming Rocklin Gem! 12/9/2011

As a former licensed Realtor, I've seen thousands of residential communities throughout the state. One of the most charming communities that I have ever been to is Sierra Lakes Mobile Home Community in Rocklin California. \r \r Not just because of the affordability and the beautiful homes to choose from, but I also felt that good old ""home sweet home"" feeling with management and the neighbors in the community that I met.\r \r Nestled in a countryside dream location. This community has lakes, creeks, gorgeous landscape and a huge cozy clubhouse with decks to relax and view the beautiful scenery. Inside the clubhouse you can enjoy a long list of things to do. Including billiards, big screen TV, a quiet library, ping pong or host a party with a full kitchen and large dining area, dance floor and much more. In the summer the swimming pool is perfect and the hot tub is open all year.\r \r If you're looking for a great place to call home, your search is over.\r \r more

My secret garden home for an apartment price 4/8/2010

People always give a funny look when I say I live in a mobile home community. They ask ""why would you live in a trailer park?"" I reply back surprised "" Why wouldn't you want to live in one?."" I love that this place is close to the schools, shopping, and parks. My child loves going on nature walks and visiting the staff or going to the clubhouse events. No matter how bad my day is in the outside world, when I drive into my secret garden and I see the welcome sign I know I am truly home. Plus the cost of the rent, my mortgage, and utilities is still way cheaper than an apartment that's the same size as my home. I get to park next to my door in my own carport. I never have to bang on a wall because a neighbor is being too loud. I can paint, remodel and decorate my house unlike an apartment. When I want to have a party or a big event I just reserve the clubhouse and hold it there. I can't tell you how many children parties, family events, etc. I have held at the clubhouse! When I am here the only stressful thing I have to worry about is waiting for mama goose to cross the road with her goslings or to make sure my plants are not low enough for the rabbits to nibble on. So tell me why would you want to live in an apartment when you can get all of this on the same budget? Pros: neighbors, staff, locatation, clubhouse events Cons: A rabbit living under my car & startles me sometimes more

Sierra Lakes Mobile Home Park 9/3/2009

This mobile home park is the prettiest I've ever seen! They have a lovely little stream with a duck pond in the front of the park. At the back, behind the clubhouse, is a very picturesque small lake. Lots of Canada geese, ducks, and bunnies adorn the lawns. The management has numerous activities throughout the year for the residents to attend. The maintenance crew does a great job of doing repairs in a timely and professional manner. The management is personable, approachable, and works hard to keep all the residents happy. If you're looking for a quiet, lovely mobile home park operated by a helpful and respectful staff, then this is definitely the place for you! Pros: beautiful park!! more

Peaceful and a great country setting 8/25/2009

Feels like you are out in the country, but you are really quite close to some great shopping! Friendly people and well maintained grounds....I highly recommend it for folks looking to settle in affordable housing in Rocklin! Pros: The peaceful lake setting Cons: close to Rocklin Road more

Beautiful park, frienldy staff 8/13/2009

I have been a visitor to SIerra Lakes Mobilehome Park for years and have found management to be top notch. Being a mobile home park resident myself, I know bad management and Sierra Lakes doesn't fall into that category! Their maintenance staff is superb and they keep the grounds beautiful. If I were going to move anywhere, it would be Sierra Lakes. Ignore the very few residents who complain - you can't please everyone but you'll find most folks at SL are very happy! Pros: Professional management with standards Cons: grumpy residents who want to spoil it for everyone else more

A Lovely Place to Call Home 8/13/2009

My husband and I searched for 2 years before we found this community. We felt the peaceful atmosphere almost immediately. We are delighted to have been accepted as residents, and feel very honored to live among our friendly and helpful neighbors. Granted, there are a couple of folks living here who have nothing better to do than complain, but their kind are just about everywhere. I feel sorry for them, actually, because they could be contributing to the beauty of our neighborhood, if they could only see the glass as half full. How very sad. They are missing so much enjoyment. Pros: Quiet, Peaceful, Beautiful Cons: A few complainers more

Great Community 8/13/2009

I help with the annual Haunted House at the park. I have have done this going on three years now, in fact for the past two years I was not a resident but my sister was. As of April of this year I purchased a home in the community. After seeing all of the events the park puts on, from bingo, to poker games and many others, it really is a nice place to raise a family. I walk the park with my family each night, we watch the baby bunnies, and geese grow up. My son and I go fishing in the lake and even catch fish. Its nice to live in such as well maintained community. Park management is easy to work with, and tries really hard to keep the park clean. Pros: Very quite, clean, well maintained, cares about residents more

Great place 8/11/2009

My hat is off to the maintanence crew for keeping the park in such A+ condition. My encounters with the park management have been very pleasant. Management has proven to be very professional, helpful, courtious and eager to please. Overall customer service review and grounds keeping recieve an A+ from me. Pros: Very nice layout and well maintained Cons: none found more

Visitor 8/10/2009

As you enter the park you are greeted with a suprisingly beautiful park-like setting. There plenty of mature trees and the pond is to die for. The streets and homes are all well maintained and has a real homey feel to it. I had the opportunity to attend an event at the very spacious club house and was greeted warmly by the residents there. It is obvious that great care and a strong sense of community is present. I have to say my expectations were quickly dismissed just minutes into the park. I had a memorable experience and the management and residents should be proud of their community. I have visited many mobile home parks and this one stands heads and shoulders above the rest. Pros: Park-like setting more

Discouraging Words? 7/15/2009

Although there have been some disparaging comments on this site, I have to say that after six years' residency, I cannot agree with the negatives, particularly the denegrating statements, and I believe the ramblings and name calling are just that - ramblings. Certainly there will be issues that residents disagree with, particularly those that require some responsibility on the part of the residents; however, in the last couple of years the park has become well-kept and a place I am personally proud to call home. When people choose to discuss management, they never seem to mention the contributions management has made toward holiday festivities, nor do they expound on the improvements on the property or the kindnesses that often go unsung. My personal opinion is that we, as a country, have become a people all about ourselves, not a people embracing personal responsibility and love for our fellow man. This has been quite obvious in this small community, where some small amount of appreciation would result in the observation of a peaceful, quiet, well-kept neighborhood that provides a secure setting for residents. Stop nit-picking and try contributing. That is always a good place to start...with one's self. Perhaps you might find that a milder, kinder approach leads to a reciprocal response. Pros: Aesthetically beautiful, surrounded by nature Cons: Lack of Resident Participation more

Sierra lakes, My Home 7/14/2009

After looking in the greater Sacramento area for a Mobile home to purchase I lucked out and found Sierra Lakes. It is a well kept and pleasnt place to live. I have never had a problem with the on site management staff. Oh, yes there are alot of rules...but we live very close to our nieghbors and the rules make this a pleasant place for all. I walk to the store, libarary, and bank. An affordable way to live in Rocklin. This is not a trailor park, it is a lovely mobile home communitee I call home. Pros: Management is Strong, property values stay high. Cons: A few wacky malcontents,(does not matter where they live). more

I have lived here for YEARS! 7/11/2009

Some people are destine to live in a Hobo shack in the hills feeding there 16 dogs roadkill they pick up each day on the way home from work with there lawns as high as your neck and no pride for themselves or there homes or the people that live next door. Thank God this park has rules. That is one of the reasons lots of people move into here in the first place. They do not want to be kept up till all hours from people working on there cars next door or loud noise from party’s and yelling or beating there wives. As a resident that has lived here for years I love the improvements that have been made over the years. Don’t be misled by people that have nothing else to do in there lives but complain about everyone and everything. As for the number of units for sale the economy has hurt everyone. If you go to other parks in the area or California you will be able to make up your own mind and see that is the truth. I see this as a very nice park with management that not only cares but is on top of things and even helps residents keep there homes looking good. I see improvements every single year and I like what I see. Keep up the good work. Pros: Most residents are good hearted people. more

FEAR 5/21/2009

One submission in two years, or more? Many have abandoned ship on account of micromanagement, which is not unlike the whip used by Ilsa Kohl; Remember HER? (B of Buchenwald). That plague has served to destroy the Sierra Lakes Mobile Home Owners Association, which is about done in, as it has long since destroyed any semblance of ""Community Life"" within the boundaries of, A once wonderful place to live; Like in a REAL AMERICAN COMMUNITY more
