I have lived in the area for a few years now and have been to Shooters Choice several times. The staff stays pretty busy helping customers, so with traffic like this they must be doing something right. In my case, I have never had a bad experience at this facility. I find the staff to be knowledgeable and straight forward. Being a mature adult, I prefer this to having someone keep telling me what I want to hear. I think people will find that an air of mutual respect will go a long way toward having a rewarding experience with anyone in the gun business. more

I love this place. The staff has great product knowledge and they are very friendly. They have very good product selection. I take my wife and older kids to the indoor range. I have never had any problems with customer service, they always been very polite and helpful more

I went in shooters choice today went a friend to ask about a gun.One of the male employees was very rude,obnoxious and nasty. Maybe because we are female. Anyway we left and I spent my $500.00 down the street and was treated very nice and that was before I bought my gun. Never will I go there again more

I recently went in to shooters choice to purchase my first hand gun. I was looking at everything not wanting to keep the employees from other customers I told the gentleman to go ahead and help someone I knee how much I wanted to spend and made my way to used guns saw a nice used glock looked around saw the gentleman who originaly talked to me got his attention he said he needed a sec watched him finish up with his customer then just pick up a magazine and start reading it thinking he forgot approached him and got his attention again and he blew me off like I was wasting his time not the service I exspected since ive heard some good things about them none the less was upset and walked out and baught a tuarus pt140 pro from another store same day. more

Run away fast.... 2/22/2012

Had them do a transfer for me ($75.00) they kept the gun a week before shipping!! Had to go to the shop twice before they shipped it ,also called twice. Also they are way OVER PRICED .. and Rude . This was my first & last time to deal with Suckers Choice Pros: null Cons: null more

I Would Recommend 11/2/2011

I have always had great customer service from each employee I've dealt with at Shooter's Choice. Just recently they sold a used gun for me fairly quickly on consignment. They also gave me a call when an new M&P 22 came in for me, which I purchased today at a great price with free range time included. I have never ever had a problem getting something special ordered for me whether it be a left-handed long gun, a Sig, a Glock, a S&W or an accessory. more

Friendly/helpful staff; good place to have fun 4/30/2011

I've wanted to go to a shooting range for a long time, and finally got around to it. Except for a BB gun when I was a kid, and a rifle one time (which I found to be way too heavy) I had never used a gun before.\r \r The staff at Shooter's Choice was friendly, and Aaron especially was so helpful in giving me recommendations, patient when I had questions about the pistol, and quite encouraging with regard to how well he thought I was doing. I had a wonderful time overall even though I was somewhat nervous at the outset.\r \r I'll definitely be going back there again. more

I dont understand all the negative reviews, I had an EXCELLENT experience! 4/17/2011

I've read most of these reviews before I went to Shooters and must admit I was pretty nervous about what I would find. The reviews make claims of arrogance, rudeness, and poor customer service. NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH!! When I got there I was a bit timid because of my lack of knowledge about firearms and that fact that I have experienced an atmosphere around the gun community of it being a "good ol'boys club." I came in to have new sights put on my S&W MP 45 and was greeted by Bill, a kind and generous man who made me feel very at easy. The interaction was professional at first but as we got to know each other it became more friendly. Every time I have been back the interactions become of those between friends and less of just a individual client. For all those who dont realize it, people are people and if you want a good experience dont come in with an ATTITUDE! People can tell if you have a poor attitude and will react to it. Mr.Disappointed! 4/5/2011

This was my first buying experience at Shooters Choice and my last. First week of March I went in to basically just check it out. I had never been in before. As I walked by the counter there was another customer standing there asking the salesman "why do I have problems putting my Gen 4 back together after I clean it ? The slide will not go back on." The salesman was stumped!!! I said "here let me show you", as I reset the trigger and it went right on. I should have known then to run! He thanked me for helping him out. When he finished with that customer he asked if I needed help with anything. I told him I was interested in the Tru Glo TFOs for my Glock 17 and asked if he had any. He said they did and installation was free. I asked him to hold a set of them with my name on them until I returned my my pistol. Now mind you I never saw the package the sights were in. I have a set on my XDM so I know what they are .When I returned I told the guy I was here and he had their Armorer ta more

Idiots!!!!! 3/14/2011

This is no joke, I have been a customer of Shooter's Choice for a while, never spent a lot of money in there due to the attitudes but since they are on my way home I treat them like a convenience store for ammo and cleaning supplies. I live in Lexington and love to shoot at Defender Shooting Range but they don't sell guns so I stopped by Shooter's to buy a Sig or Springfield (haven't decided yet) I had 1,000. in cash ready to buy. The guy behind the counter was barely interested in helping me, showed me a couple of guns and I sensed that he was getting aggravated with me because I couldn't decide. I asked him about the Sig 220 Carry and he said "we don't have it" I asked if they could order it and he said "what you see is what you get" .... really? I'm ready to spend a grand with you, gun, extra magazines, ammo. You can't order a gun? you are a dealer right? you do order guns right? WTF. I'm done with Shooter's Choice. Shooters choice smells bad 3/3/2011

Ok, really...if you read a positive comment about Shooters, it must be posted by Shooters managers or employees. That place is the pits! I went to the new shooting range over in Lexington after going to Shooters... No Comparison, the folks were friendly, helped me with my gun and the range had great lighting and didn't smell like smoke. They don't sell guns but it's a great range. Sorry Shooters Choice, I found a better place to shoot. Check out Defenders Range! it's about time somebody did it right. more

The first time I saw this kinda thing was at auto parts stores where the salesmen acted macho because they knew auto parts; Large egos, small brains. BUT the bottom line is when I'm a paying customer, I'm the one with the money, you know, the money they get for selling to me. Won't buy anything there. .Positive things about Shooter's:\r -A place to shoot your guns\r -Fair price for half an hour ($8.00)\r -They provided me safety glasses at no additional cost\r -You can bring your own targets ($2 bucks for 12 targets from Walmart, more than $5 bucks per target from Shooters) and your own ammos. Almost twice cheaper from Walmart (Depends on your bullets sizes)\r -Clean facility but little dirty restroom (Men's, Im not sure about Female's restroom BC I'm male)\r \r Negative things about Shooter's:\r -Their targets are expensives!\r -Employees aren't nice enough to lift their own pinky finger to help customers for anything, They just point it out or say something no more than 2 sentences!\r -Their guns cost are way to high to buy.. To buy a M16-They tend to sell it for approx $2K... You can get brand new one for no more than $1200 at Lexington Pawn & Guns shop. Lex Pawn & Guns have a lot of brand new guns. I just bought a brand new handgun for $399.99, Orig price was $539.99. I checked the price more

I've been going to SC for years, and never had a bad experience. But then I am a former Marine, a two-time collegent letterman in marksmanship, and I like guns and the people who like weapons & guns. I have watched the employees interact with the customers and the only thing I can say is they do not bear fools gladly. People come in with dumb questions because they haven't done their own homework. Shooter's Choice is a good place with good, well-informed employees. It's my Choice. Simper Fi. more

SOUR GRAPES 2/7/2011

I have been a customer of Shooter's Choice since they first opened many years ago. Over the years they have made many changes/improvements. I have always found the employees to be very professional and helpful, although there have been times when, due to heavy customer loads, they did not have time to carry on a lengthy conversation. Let's face it, they are in the gun selling business. If a gun buying customer is waiting while they are selling a box of ammo, that could mean a lost sale. The negative posts sound alot like sour grapes from their "new" competitor to me. more

Take My Advice 1/27/2011

Take my advice, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME (or money) with Shooters Choice in West Columbia. There is this sawed off gray haired guy that really needs to wash. He greets customers with "What you need?" then if you ask for something simple like a box of 38's he'll grab a box and slap it on the counter and say "is that all?" what an A$$ Hole!! Unbelievable how customers are treated in this place, everyone seems to have an attitude problem. Not all customers are experts and a little bit of "Nice" goes along way. more

Won''t get my money 1/24/2011

Last year my gun bag was stolen from my truck, my fault, I left it on the seat and went out to eat. Lost my 1911, holster, ammo, all was gone. Finally I got the insurance check and with a little Christmas money added to it I had over a grand to spend. Went to Shooters and was treated so bad, me and my money walked out the door. One employee asked "what can I do you for?" I said, "I'm looking for a gun" he laughed and said "you got to do better than that" Ended up buying an XD, gun bag and all accessories from Sportsman's Warehouse. Thanks Shooters, your arrogant employee taught me a lesson, never do business with you again. Sportsman's was great, nice, helpful folks, now it's off to the range to break this XD in. more

Do your JOB!!!!! 1/24/2011

Went to Shooters choice last saturday, won't go back! I asked for a holster for a Beretta 96 and I get "if we got one, its over there" pointed to a back wall. That was the extent of the help I received. After looking what they had to offer and getting no help. I walked out. Not like they were busy, seemed like the workers there were more interested in laughing and joking behind the counter. I'm the customer! I came in to spend money! ended up buying a N82 holster at a another shop. If the idiots at Shooters choice would do their job, they might not have so many bad reviews. more
