Jim is one of the most honest mechanics I've ever met! 9/23/2011

I would say that Jim from Darnestown Shell always does the repair that's needed. He never does stuff you don't need and tells you exactly what you need to get done. The biggest thing is that every time he does a repair, it WORKS. I never have to take a vehicle back to Darnestown Shell after he has worked on it. Darnestown Shell maintains a truck and two cars of mine. He has taken care of a lot of things, including brake jobs, suspension, ball joints--that type of thing. Someone in the neighborhood had used Darnestown Shell and I used them on their recommendation. It's been three years that I've been using them now. I have all the confidence in the world in them. 9/22/2011

I switched to Darnestown Shell from the dealership, I guess a couple of years ago. The dealership was providing poor service, and it was becoming a very poor value, so I decided to try Jim and his group at Darnestown Shell. They were actually able to accomplish a repair to the air conditioning system that the dealership still had not repaired after spending $2500. Jim had it up and running for $600, and I have been with him ever since. I have 6 cars in the family, and I take all our business to them. I even occasionally restore antique cars, and they sometimes help me with those too. To give you a good idea of what kind of shop Darnestown Shell is, I had left my car there to do an oil change, then went across the street in another car and Jim called me on my cell phone, telling me I had a brake light out. He said to be sure to stop by on the way back and he would take care of it. He fixed the light for me for no charge. I can always depend on them when I have a car problem. 3/17/2010

We have been using Darnestown Shell for about 3 or 4 years now, since we met the owner, Andy. We have 5 drivers in our family and they have worked on all 5 of our cars. They have done everything for us, from new tires and batteries to oil changes, brake work, and repairing a cracked windshield. Their work is excellent. I do a lot of driving, and Darnestown Shell has helped me through a lot of emergencies. They have saved me many times when I have pulled into their shop with one problem or another. They also have towed my car for me. They are very friendly and I know that I can count on them every single time. They fit me in and they handle the situation right away. They are always very accommodating, helpful, courteous, and dependable. more

A family-run business that treats you like one of their own. 3/17/2010

I have been a customer of Darnestown Shell for nearly 10 years. They are close to my home and they are very accommodating. They will work around my schedule and can do something quickly if need be. They also will give you a ride home if you live close by. Darnestown Shell does a good job and the price is right. They are upfront in that they tell it to you like it is. If anything has not turned out the way I expected, they have no problem taking care of it when I bring it back. more
