Shelby Dental Family Dentistry

I can not put into the proper words, the experience, horrible, rude, obnoxious, incompetent, did I say rude. Extracting a tooth, was the most unprofessional experience I've ever encountered. After the very abrupt experience, I found the damage that was done to the tooth beside the one which was removed, a very large hole. Later I had to have this tooth removed, of coarse, using a different dentist. Once my insurance was billed, I found that he had charged for removing the tooth which he had damaged as well. Had it not been damaged, I would not have had any problem, and would still have this tooth. This deserves litigation, I was so angry with Dr. Shelby that I could not deal with him for fear that I could get into serious trouble. Using this dentist is risky. They had billed me a tremendous fee for this experience. Do not use this dentist!\r DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST! \r DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST! more

Dr. Shelby was dismissive of my 16 year-old daughter, barely greeting her, and not introducing himself. He was very rough, yanking her head from side to side and pulling on her mouth unnecessarily. He talked about her, but never TO her during the exam. He used the paper bib on her chest as a place to rest things like his rubber gloves while he wasn't using them. She felt dehumanized and burst into tears on the way home. As far as prices, I think $1,000 for 5 ""tiny"" (their words) cavities is way too much. We will not return. more

I've been going to Dr Shelby for about 10 years anyway, for cleaning, fillings, and a few chipped Teeth. And I don't have one reason not to keep going back to Dr Shelby :) Bob Peschel more

if i wanted to have the corners of my mouth ripped beyond recognition i could have just gone and gotten curb stomped... but no i went here instead... OHH and if you are gay bi lesbian or gender queer STAY AWAY!!!! TURN AND RUN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!!! there is nothing like getting discriminated against for your sexual orientation and beliefs! not to mention the arguments that the receptionists started about how they can ""fix"" me... (fix the fact that i am a gay man and identify with being gender queer)... the one tooth that he has tried to ""fix"" is a simple one root root canal and it has taken 4 visits to get it where it is now! and its not even finished!!!!!!! the second that this is ""done"" i will never turn back! i am getting out as soon as possible!!! HE IS A MONSTER!!!!! and abusive as hell... i thought my mom was bad.... more

If you are gay bi lesbian or gender queer STAY AWAY! i am a gay man and was discriminated against for my sexuality and lectured about my beliefs! not to mention that the root canal that he is still fixing has taken 4 different visits and it is still not done! unless you are a born again christian i would stay clear from this establishment! it was the worst experience of my life and i'm only 21!!!!! more

My experience with Dr. Shelby was incredible! He is the nicest, most thorough dentist I have come across. He does great work. You definately get what you pay for and they always stand behind their work! I would recommend this office to anyone and everyone! If you want someone to care for you as a patient and a friend, this is the man!! more

This place is horrible, Do not EVER go there. The dentist's wife, Tommi, is a completed money hungry witch who talks about everyone in the office right in front of patients. She constantly is trying to sell you something you don't need and just makes a complete fool of herself. Dr. Shelby is a nice guy but super rough on you and unnecessarily so. He causes more damage than good. When I switched, my new dentist couldn't believe all the damage Shelby had done. They have lost so mnay patients and so many employees, it like a constant revolving door with people there. They are also the highest priced dentist in all of Missoula b/c of his money hungry wife who contributes nothing to the office environment but extreme tension as she berates the employees right in front of clients which only makes herself look more stupid than she already is. Pros: Hygienist was awesome, I think her name was Shalae Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE more
