I just had my first tattoo done at Purple Lotus. I went in very nervous but Shavon made me feel so at ease right away. She tattooed a beautiful memorial to my brother on my ribs that could not of come out any better. I am so very proud of this beautiful piece of artwork on my body. Shavon is the absolute best. by deaths_warden Art work is unbeatable but I would recommend small pieces only or pay as you go on large pieces. Very unreliable and unprofessional service, multiple missed and canceled appointments repeatedly without notice. Shop is clean and work is great but service for repeat long term customer service severally lacks to says the least and I would not recommend the hassle to anyone. There are many good artist comparable to the ones in this shop however travel maybe required. I just expect a better experience from an artist of Shavon's quality. I would say that I am very very dissatisfied with my business dealings(meaning they owe me work/money) and have since found a new artist. more

I just got a beautiful tattoo of tropical flowers that covers my upper arm. I gave Shavon my idea and told her to put her touch on it and I couldn't be happier. I had a old tattoo already on part of my upper arm and she incorporated pieces of art all around the old tat to give it new life and each flower look real, she did a better job than I could have ever imagined. This is my 8th tattoo and by far to best! Thanks Shavon for taking an old tat that didn't look feminine at all and making my arm look like a piece of gorgeous and feminine artwork, you are the best! This was my first tattoo. I went in for one small tattoo of a hummingbird on my lower back but after talking with Shavon and getting some ideas from her, and with Shavon's creativity, I came out with a beautiful tattoo of two hummingbirds, flower and a vine accross my lower back. She was very professional and very honest. Her work is beautiful. Her place is very clean. it is obvious she takes pride in her work and treats her customers like she has known them for years. Every single person that has seen my tattoo tells me how great it looks and how the detail in the tattoo is great! You must look at her website her work is one of a kind. GREAT TATTOO!!!!!! After being butchered at a shop in 5 POINTS and walking away with a bad taste for tattoos in general (My first tat ever.) Shavon and the Purple Lotus has completely changed my outlook on the whole process. Her 17+ years as a true artist really shines through. The first shop was rude and had an I CAN CARE LESS ATTITUDE but not so at the Lotus. I made the mistake of going to the shop in 5 POINTS because it was close to where I hang out, although I had heard from several people that the Lotus was where I needed to go, Big mistake on my part. Just walking through the front door at the lotus told me I was in the right place. Shavon sat down with me and reassured me that she could fix the mess on my arm. After getting an idea of what I had in mind she drew up a design that blew me away, it was like she could see what I wanted in my mind just as clear as I could. She covered that old tattoo like it was never there with a great piece of art that I get complements on all the time. THANK YOU SHAVON AND THE PURPLE LOTUS. Got my Jeanne d'Arc piece finished up and as alway, my time spent at the Purple Lotus was a joy, and i am so happy with my new ink. Shavon was wonderful and patient with me while i had my tense ""ouch"" moments. She is so good at helping you relax! As for Alex, well, he's hilarious, and no one has ever drawn such nice swirls on me without laughing at my backfat :) You guys are the best! I am barely able to contain my excitement while i wait for my next appointment, to get a really ugly ancient piece from ""the bad old days"" covered up by something new and beautiful. I can't think of anywhere i'd rather go to get this done....i never planned to have any tattooing done in color, but Shavon's color works is so beautiful that i'm taking the plunge just this once before i go back to black. Shavon and Alex did a great job. My wife and I came in to get tattoos for our 17th anniversary. They took the time to design the tattoo we wanted from pictures and ideas we gave them. Then they came in early on Sunday so we could drive back to Georgia in time to pick up our kids before it got too late. And the artwork we got was incredible. This was my wife's first tattoo and she was a little nervous. Alex did an outstanding job and kept her upbeat through the whole thing. She loves her new ink and looks forward to getting another custom piece. I had a pretty good idea what I wanted when I went into the shop, but Shavon took my plain, boring tattoo and made it 'Pop'. It's so much better than my original idea. I will definitely be back and would highly recommend these folks to anyone. Well, maybe not anyone... I don't want my friends to have tats as good as mine! Honestly the best experience ever. Combine their inspirational attitudes, creative flare, with even a slight concept for your piece and hands down you will walk out with your perfect tat! Even the memory of getting it done will draw you back for more. I have been around the block as far as shops go and the Lotus is, by a massive extent, way beyond your generic flash, point, print machines that other places I have seen were like. Intimate to every detail as if it were her own, Shavon transformed a horrible blot on me to something i cant help but show off. For that I send my sincerest of thanks to you! Shavon -- I LOVE MY CROSS!!!! After speaking to a couple of other folks about doing some ""cover up"" work on a small, malformed cross I had tattooed on my wrist, I ran across Shavon's website. I read all her fantastic reviews and hoped that she would be willing to re-do my cross -- without any judgement. And she was!!! I really didn't have anything in mind when I went in to visit Shavon but she came up with some beautiful ideas and in the end, I got a scroll-work cross on my wrist and it is soooooo beautiful!!! I've gotten so many compliments (but alas -- not from my husband ... ha!). She and Alex (who is soooo ""ghettofied"" -- NOT!) made me feel comfortable and relaxed -- and you know I'm going to go back for more! Don't go anywhere else because Shavon is the BEST! Thanks Guys! I came to Purple Lotus with a friend so she could get a tat and i ended up letting Alex give me one. It is by far the best tat i have ever gotten. it is My sons name with his feet print above it. It looks like he took my sons feet, dipped them in ink and stamped it on me. I would highly recommend letting Alex do any tat you could dream up. more

So I'm pretty much a wheeny when it comes to getting tattoo's or piercings. My first tattoo I couldn't quit shaking and instead of trying to work with me, the artist got frustrated and did a poor job. Now Shavon was really patient with me and actually gave me a breathing technique to use to help calm me down. My tattoo is flawless and didn't take an unnecessary amount of time to complete! I freakin love this place and you better believe I'll be back for more! Don't waist your time by going anywhere else! Always professional, and friendly Shavon tattooed me for the fifth time today, she is working on a whole back piece for me. Never cancelled or rescheduled on me, although I have had to reschedule her on a few occasions. (And she always understood and put me back on right away.) The art work is impeccable.
