I couldn't have been happier with my decision to have my reception at Shannon's! From beginning to end Jim and Paul catered to every single request I had. Not only is the price absolutely amazing (especially with what it includes) but the food is exquisite, the staff is extremely friendly and with a few little candles on the tables, the ambiance is fabulous! We had our wedding reception at Shannon's in June. Everything was great. Paul & Jim (the owners) were very professional and helpful with all the details. a list was given to the owner, centerpieces were messed up, half of the candles were not put out, very expensive, reception was shut down 1 hour before it was supposed to be, they took apart favors and put candles on tables instead of using them as favors, 1 table did not get cake, but servers were eating the wedding cake, owners refuse to talk to us, sign-in book was destroyed and not put out according to the list of instructions provided by the bride, food was good, but service was horrible, servers actually argued when asked for coffee, bridal table wasn't served coffee, maid of honor was served seafood and is allergic, also put on the instructions from the bride, they said they lost the instructions, but NEVER called the bride. we spent alot of money on candles and favors and they were left in plastic boxes under the gift table or taken apart and never used. cappachino bar was paid for, was never available, guests were still present and their belongings were put on the floor and table linens changed while the reception was still going on. bar was supposed to be open until 11 pm for coffee, cappachino and soft drinks, it was closed down at 10 pm, owner was aware of problems when the reception started but refused to talk to us and left, owners still refuse to talk to us. would never have another event at shannon's country house. the bride spent the first 30 minutes and the last hour of the reception crying. really disgusting service. they should be ashamed of themselves. I WANT TO RATE SHANNON COUNTRY HOUSE POORLY. I knew two people that had functions at Shannon's Country House, One for a wedding, the other one was for a baptism. the wedding, my Uncle had ask them for a different steak, because the 1st one wasn't cooked thoroughly ,so they told him we can cut it open if you want and cook it. and my uncle said no, i want a new one that is cooked well. they told him sorry, we'll take your dinner and take it off of the person bill that is having the wedding and never got offered something, so he didn't eat. POOR SERVICE!!! Then on Nov.9th, my friend had baptism here, the appetizers were ice cold! and some of the dinner was cold. but most of all the FRUIT CUP HAD MOLD ON IT. and said to her i'll talk to the kitchen, but never said sorry, or i'll give you something in return, or replaced it with anything else. NO just took them off the dessert table and walked away, and never saw the owner for the rest of the night, and if you have a function here with babies, there isn't any changing table in the ladies room!! SO this place is NO good for affairs!!!! I want everyone one to know how they treat customers. they don't care they are money hungry!! so if you want cold food, horrible food, then book your party here, but if you want good food, hot, go else where. I'll never ever recommend this place to anyone in my family. My girlfriend got screwed by these people, and my uncle was mis treated fairly at a wedding that we were attending. how do you treat customers like that. that is poor service. more
