Excellent Food & Service Every Time 12/27/2008

This restaurant is a bit hidden on Sunrise Blvd. I only discovered it because I worked nearby and thank goodness because it is excellent. With all the bland run-of-the-mill restaurants around I enjoy visiting Shahrzad's for a unique and exceptional meal. I finally brought my husband for dinner and he ordered the lamb, which was perfectly cooked and tender as can be with the most aromatic flavor. My favorite is the Gheymeh (tender stewed beef in delicious saffron sauce). I simply can't get enough of it. I always leave incredibly satisfied and it will always be one of my favorite restaurants. more

Favorite of Ours 10/10/2008

The Shahrzad restaurant offers good Persian cuisine with a reasonable price. Unlike the mediocre offerings in Sacramento, shahrzad offers great food and great scenery. The inside is classy and it is family owned so all the waiters all know and it creates a nice family experience. If you like Persian food, this is the best in town. \r more

Disappointing Persian Food 8/11/2007

Well.. This is the first time that I have felt compelled to write about a restaurant on the web. This was quite disappointing. The place looks pretty nice and the service was good. The food was VERY substandard. We ordered Tah-Dig, a persian specialty with Ghormeh-Sabzi. First of all, Tah-Dig was not what it was supposed to be. I found it to be like left-over rice cooked over oil to make it congeal into a Tah-Dig. Not the real thing at all. Ghormeh-sabzi was tepid at best, clearly not freshly made, but sadly not even warmed up properly. The Kabob was devoid of any true spices that I was used to. The hot tea was not aromatic at all. This was a sad expereince for us. We moved here from another state and were excited to check out the new restaurant. The owners didn't even acknowledge our visit. Very atypical of Persian restaurants. I most likely won't go back there. Too bad. Pros: Great service, nice decor. Cons: Pretty bad Persian food more
