The first time... 4/13/2006

I walked into a Sephora, I was in Lyon. As in France, and nearly bought out the store. My friends could not convince me that some place this wonderful could be found in the US. Thus, it was with rather great delight I found the stores in NYC (and, eventually the one in King of Prussia). It's a grown-up girl's candy shop - the colors, the flavors, and oh, my goodness! you don't really need more of that... but can you resist? more

Like a toy store but with cosmetics 3/27/2006

I don't know if it's the lighting or the music or the colors, but something about Sephora makes it very difficult to go in without buying something. It's aisels and aisels of colorful and odoriferous lovely things and the people will help you find whatever you need. The prices are not cheap, but you'll always find when you're looking for and it's so much fun to look around. more

Sephora, beauty authority 3/17/2006

Sephora is the best store (albeit most expensive) for makeup and perfumes. They carry nearly every line one can think of and more. The store allows people to try on every product before buying it, which ensures that one buys the right shade of foundation or the right eyeliner. The prices are high, but the products are high quality. You will not encounter generic drugstore brands at Sephora – only the best is available. more

Beauty shop 12/18/2005

One of my favorite beauty shops. It's all-inclusive and you can find a great selection of makeup and perfumes. The store is immense and looks gorgeous. Staff is usually too friendly but always helpful. You can always test the different makeup products there. And there are plenty of quality products, from the high-end designers to the the trendy Hollywood products. Great to step in while you're near Herald's Square. more
