I went to Sel et Poivre for lunch this past weekend, and was anything but impressed. The restaurant was practically empty (which should have been the first sign on a Saturday afternoon), so we thought we'd enjoy a lovely intimate meal. Just the opposite occurred .... My party of four were ignored by the wait staff for 15 minutes, and when I finally flagged someone down to take our drink order, the waiter was rude and unfriendly. We noticed that they were all congregated by the bar - doing what, we had no idea. Another party who arrived some time after us received their drinks and bread before we did! Only after I had to ask for bread was it given to us. We ordered from the Prix Fixe Menu, plus extra appetizers, and the food was average at best. We were virtually ignored when we wanted refills of our drinks because the wait staff was always near the bar. I asked to speak with a Manager, who ended up being one of people hanging out up front. Fed up, we left dissatisfied and disgusted by their incompetent staff. Customer service is surely lacking at this French bistro.
Cons: terrible service, average food, unfriendly management
