After not being very impressed with other vets on the island, we have taken our dog there for over five years, and we love them! \r Any time we have an emergency, they always find a way to get us in. They show genuine care and concern for our dog and always bill us fairly.\r I wish they worked on humans! more

I have been taking my two dogs and cat to Sea Island Veterinary Hospital for several years now and would recommend them highly. There are several vets practicing here and all of them give personal and comprehensive treatment. Their receptionists are helpful, personable and they always remember me and my animals. They are also extremely affordable and keep their costs unbelievably low. Several times I have brought one of the dogs in for a quick follow up or for a little problem and they didn't even charge me for the visit. The building is older and dingy but don't let this deter you. I'm sure they don't upgrade or splurge in order to keep their costs down for their patients. Their equipment and facilities on site are more than enough to safely treat, diagnose and care for my pets. It would be a such a shame if they went out of business or had to jack up their prices. I encourage all my family and friends to take their pets here. more

Sea Island Veterinary Hospital may not have the most updated or modern office BUT they are up-to-date when it comes to animal care. I have been going to Sea Island for my animals since 1989 and have ALWAYS been given good loving care from all three of the vets at this practice. When there were problems they could not diagnose or treat - they were the first to make a referral to a reputable specialist and explain all possibilities of care and/or treatment. I have had wonderful experiences with this Vet. They are very personable. Most importantly, they are commited to keeping pet care as cost effective as possible (which explains why they may not have state-of-the-art facilities.) I have recently moved to Charlotte, and was disgusted when I was charged 303 dollars for a visit to have my sick dock examined. I left with Dog food and pepcid. This incident really puts my experiences with Sea Island Vet into perspective! more

Sea Islands is a local vet hospital located on James Island. The building is small and rather outdated but the doctors do an amazing job caring for the animals. When I used to have my cat this was her vet and they always treated her gently as if she was theirs. This is the hospital that she died in and they were very comforting to me in the situation and I'll always be greatful for that. Being compassionate is not something you can teach and not something that comes with a nice new facility, and based on that I would recommend them to anyone!
