Scorpio Salon and Spa Clients Beware: The Owner Lives Up to the Name 9/21/2008

I experienced extremely poor service at Scorpio Salon and Spa.\r \r The quality of the products used to manicure my nails was terrible and the manicure process was insufficient. The emery board was dull and took excessive time to get the job done. I then had to ask for my cuticles to be clipped, which is a standard service at other salons. The clipper was so dull that the manicurist had to pull my hangnail resulting in immediate pain. I then asked the manicurist to stop; telling her this was not working. She then persuaded me to complete the service and get my nails painted. While she was painting my nails, residue from the cotton pad she used earlier was ruining the polish job. When she told me the cost of this cut-rate manicure was $30, almost twice the price at other locations but a fraction of the quality, I almost had a coronary. In an attempt to be polite to the manicurist, I paid her the charge of the service and explained that it was the Scorpio manicure process and products with which I was unhappy.\r \r Unfortunately, this was not the worst of my Scorpio experience. My absolute chagrin was found in the response of the manager/owner, Durenda Ettel. I called the manager of Scorpio in an attempt to work this situation out. I wanted to know if she would re-do my nails. She nastily commanded me not to return to her salon. After further thought, I called her again and asked for a refund. Ms. Ettel then began yelling at me, denied my refund request, and hung up on me. \r \r Never in my tenure as a consumer have I experienced such negative and degrading treatment. I am an aficionado of personal care products and salon services as is evident by my weekly services at many high-end salons including Z Salon and Ecotage. Scorpio had the potential of inheriting a great regular client, but it is evident that Scorpio is neither interested in my business nor improving their business of fine nail care. \r \r Pros: Pretty Decor Cons: Worst Manicure in Kentuckiana more
