I have never done business with a company as bad as the Colony. I have been a resident of the the Colony for just over 4 years. My rent has gone up over $450 since living there. It is frustrating living in a place where the better the tenant you are, the worse you get treated. I have never had a new contract where my rent hasn't gone up at least $100. Recently I have had a horrible experience with the adminstative staff. They had raised the rent once again without informing us. Due to the lack of their irresponsibility they informed us the following month that they had raised the rent the previous month, and told us to just add the additional money owed to the following months rent. Although this was frustrating I did as they said and paid the amount that was owed. Due to their miscalculations they had misinformed us of the amount that was due by $30. The original amount they told us was due was paid 2 days before the end of the month. On the 7th of the following month they sent a letter stating that they would need another rent check for the new calculation they came up with. We called and spoke to Theresa the assistant mangaer and she apologized for the inconvenience but stated that we would ned to provide a new check. We provided a new check, and then they said we would need a money order instead and that they were going to charge a $50 late fee. I was furious with their lack of organization and prudence. I then spoke to Jacquelyn the useless manager above Theresa. She was rude, unprofessional, and talked with a condescending tone. She did nothing to make the situation better, and is ultimately the reason I will be moving out this month, and will encourage everyone I come accross not to move to the Colony Town Homes. I am not the type of person to complain about people or companies, but I do feel in this situation that it is worthwhile for me to help other people to avoid the anger and frustration I have felt living in the Colony. Do not rent here!!!!
