My family had brought many vehicles to Satori's so I wanted to give them more business. The owner would not give me a quote over the phone, not even a rough estimate for a rear brake job. He insisted I bring it in and would not charge me a fee to inspect the vehicle. After he gave me the price I said I was going to wait to make a decision. He became very unpleasant to deal with. He then went on to charge me $17 dollars for removing the rust from the backside of my rims or else my wheels "would have fell off on the way home". I kindly paid that fee even though I never requested that or signed for that service. The employees at Satori's Auto are very well educated and have great customer service. Mr. Satori himself has terrible customer service. My Family and I will never bring a vehicle there again.
RESPONSE FROM Satori's Auto Service:
We are not the type of business to quote a false low price to get people in the door. We believe in mutual trust is the basis for good business relationships. We have been doing this for a long time and we know there are too many variables when it comes to brake repairs. It takes time for a trained professional to inspect and give an accurate recommendation. We normally charge $45 for a complete brake inspection and if a repair is done at the same time, the cost is dropped to $19.05 due to the labor savings of having the vehicle on the hoist with the wheels off. We waived this inspection cost due to the customer insisted on a price over the phone and we were not going to fall into that trap. The vehicle needed some rear brake repairs, which we gave him a fair price on. We even offered to reduce the price if it was done while the vehicle was on the hoist to save time and he still declined. We needed to put the wheels back on and there was excessive corrosion which needed to be removed. If we did not remove the corrosion, the wheels could have come loose causing catastrophic failure. If I was unfriendly, I apologize. I may have been trying to impress upon this customer the importance of this repair. Our slogan is “Auto repair done right by people you trust.” It is what we are all about! If I failed to convince this young man of this, I am truly sorry. Sincerely, Greg Satori
