I LOVE Sara's. It has everything I love in one place. When you walk in, you are immediately aware of "the spices of the orient". You can smell cinnamon, baking bread, and olives (really!). You are whisked away to far away lands as you walk down the little isles filled with unusual foods and drinks.
There are crates of JUST BAKED pita bread bags ready to take home and enjoy for under $1 a loaf (about 8 med. to lrg. sized pieces) This bread is JUST LIKE the bread my mom, grandma and aunt used to buy when we had a family meal of stuffed grape leaves and baklava.
They also have items that you can purchase having to do with meals...pans, kitchenware, dishes, etc...
A highlight for my sister and me is to go to the spice rack (large spice rack) and look at and smell all the different, VERY affordable spices they have. From A-Z you can find the spice you need for $1.99 or under in bags (very fresh).
The little restaurant is handy if you haven't had lunch. The food is very good middle eastern fare. They definitely know their recipes! Priced between $5-8 a meal.
Go ahead! Take your kids and immerse yourself in another culture. Don't forget to buy some pita bread and a large bottle of Blackberry Syrup (made from real berries) for about $4, a bottle of seltzer water and a couple of real limes and make your family your own Berry Limeade Fizz! Great with a toasted pita snack. Enjoy!
