Good food. Better people 2/2/2010

I recommend you start with a margarita at this place. You may want to try the bean dip. The food is great, from a simple cheeseburger and bean dip to more spicy dishes. They have pretty much every tequila you can imagine. The bartenders are fun and no other place on the UWS can replicate their local feel. Pros: Best margaritas, cute bartenders, clean bathrooms Cons: Good margaritas more

Now the quesadilla. Excellent! 10/21/2009

Here I am again. I Looked over other reviews from restaurants in the area first. Either you guys up here in NY are a really tough crowd, or there just aren't that many good chinese restaurants in the area. In desparation, I went back to Santa Fe for the Grilled Chicken Quesadila. Pros: Perfectly baked. Buttery taste. Cons: Only serve one. more

Great Service, Fun Atmosphere, Incredible Food! 10/20/2009

I was staying just down 71st from this incredible NYC gem. I love NYC. I love this part of the city. Now I love this restaurant. Pros: Perfect Southwestern Interpretation more

Great Food, Friendly Service, Comfortable Atmosphere 1/22/2009

A friend of mine recommended I try this place because I love Mexican food. I have the say that the margaritas were amazing. I had the house margarita and it had to have been the best I have ever tasted. Apparently they just hired a new chef who totally changed the menu, and there were even some delicious sounding specials. I ordered the crab cakes, which were recommended to me by my waitress. She said that they are some of the best she's had, and she's from Maryland. As soon as she said that I knew I had to try them, and she was not lying. They were amazing. My boyfriend ordered the burger which was also really yummy and juicy (even though I thought it was strange it came on an english muffin instead of a bun). The waitress also recommended the flan for dessert, and again, she gave us a great recommendation. I don't usually like flan, but this one was so creamy and flavorful, and had great carmalization. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. You won't be disappointed. I think the next time I eat here I will try one of the specials. Pros: Food, Margaritas, Service Cons: A little hard to find more

Old Dog, GREAT NEW Tricks ! 11/27/2008

This place has been around for years and except for the drinks, I have always felt that the food belonged in 1980. Needles to say, I was shocked when they started giving out ""tastings"" at the bar one night. Pros: New Chef, New Specials, Drinks Cons: Old Menu more

Super Southwestern Cuisine, dynamite Margaritas at reasonable prices. 6/5/2007

Santa Fe has to be one of the best values in top level Southwestern cuisine in the city. Tucked away on 71st Street right off of Columbus Avenue, it might not look impressive on the outside. But inside, the food is always wonderful while not being too trendy, the Margaritas are powerful and the service attentive and friendly without being overbearing. While the prices make it a treat you can enjoy again and again without guilt. Pros: Great food, service and prices Cons: Ambience could be warmer more
