Worst

Not all the time 5/24/2007

Verizon is not that bad of a place! I know people have reviewed the place and said that not only are the workers bad, but the consession people too. The workers try their best, everyone has a bad day once in awhile. Come on, if you had to stand on a slanted hill for Eight or more hours a day, you wouldn't be all peachy at the end of the night either. As for the consessions, they are not employed by Verizon! They are local schools and such trying to raise money, therefor not Verizon's fault. If you want a good lawn seat, get there early, and don't complain if you show up hours late and can't find a spot on the lawn that is ""accecptable"" to you. It's first come first serve. more

Way overrated 9/9/2005

Don't have anything good to say about it. They don't even have any good bands anymore. more

What? 12/17/2002

How could this be the best venue? The parking staff is rude, the concession staff is rude, the bathrooms are disgusting, everything is extremely over priced, and the sound quality is horrible. Pros: Some good artists, holds lots of people more

Verizon Parkingless Amphitheatre 11/29/2002

Since Verizon took over, the parking is HORRIBLE! It's takes forever to park and forever to leave. I DO NOT recommend this venue. They actually CLOSE some of the parking exits after the show so it often takes an hour to leave. DON'T spend your money at Verizon Parkingless Ampitheatre! Cons: Parking, security more

very nice 11/27/2002

I really enjoy the shows there, even if it is pouring down rain!!!!! more

this place sucks 11/13/2002

this place sucks. it was ok prior to verizon taking over but has always been over priced and the sound is crap Cons: high priced, verizon cellular, crapy sound more

this place sucks 10/17/2002

When this place was sandstone it rocked i was never bothered. now that verizon bought the amplitheatre it has gone down hill. they use great bands to promote their company wich now owns much of kansas city. I do not support this kind of comercialism. to me its all about the music Cons: verizon cellular, comercial, expensive more

Verizon Theater is a crock 9/30/2002

THis theater is really hard on people who can't afford to get seats. THose of us who are left to remain on the lawn with our blankets and lawn chairs can't hear any of the music, despite the fact that the people in the rennaisance lawn can hear every word. When sitting so far back people walking in front of you, you can't even see half the time. I saw Lord of the Dance there and couldn't tell you any part of the show cause I couldn't hear the music or see the performance half the time, Bands like Aerosmith should go somewhere else. Pros: cheap Cons: can't see, can't hear more

a really awful place for concerts 8/14/2002

I agree with the other reviews that panned this as a concert venue. If you sit on the lawn, you'll never see the act for all the people standing in front of you blocking your view. The sound system is awful and usually deafeningly mixed to the point of sound distortion. The prices are outrageous starting right out of the gate with the parking and continuing through drink and refreshment prices. Getting out afterwards is a nightmare too. By the way, none of the locals call this place ""Verizon Amphitheatre"". If you don't want to sound like a tourist, call it Sandstone. We all do. more

Rain...I don't think so 7/26/2002

I have been rained out of a concert,,,,,and no refunds. Offered me $5 off the next concert. Have not been back since more

Music Mayhem 7/25/2002

Great place to hear live music. Nearly any band that has come to KC has played at Sandstone/Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Great atmosphere. Offers seat prices of all ranges. more

\r There's about 7,000 reserved seats, but the lawn, where another 11,000 spots await blanket-toting music lovers, has more of a party atmosphere. Get there early because it...
