Worst

I used to go to this place a lot when I was young. It had a lot of variety of animals back then, but now, theres less animals and less attractions. I like how they have free admis...

Fun place, but it gets old 7/15/2005

I come here about once every three years. Its always fun, but things don't change very often so if you come too much it gets boring. My favorite animals to look at are the kangaroos and the bears. They also have a children's playground, which is nice. My only gripe is that it costs over $10 for adults to get in, which sucks for me since I'm used to getting for free when I was a kid. more

Depressing 7/14/2005

I used to love the San Francisco Zoo when I was younger, but when we recently took my brother for the first time, I realized it was really depressing. What really made me mad was the elephant. There was one big gray elephant that made me sad the most. It was the African elephant, and he just looked so trapped in that little section they had for him. The rhinocerous also made me angry. I used to pity people who hated zoos because the animals are "trapped", but now, I know what they mean. It's horrible. more

Loving this place 7/14/2005

I love this zoo! There are so much different animals and it really makes you appreciate the wildlife. The zoo workers are nice and friendly and love to answer any questions a person has. There is so much to do there that one day is not enough. The animals look happy and well-fed. Plus, every first Wednesday of the month, admissions is free! more

What an adventure! 7/13/2005

San Francisco Zoo is located in an interesting part of San Francisco. The parking near the zoo is terrible. Unless you come really early, expect to park on the street and not in the designated zoo parking area. The animals at the zoo are great. They have a wide variety of animals in fact, including monkeys, giraffes, lions, tigers, etc. They even have a little farm where kids can go and pet farm animals such as goats and feed them too. They have an insect farm too. The food at the zoo is extremely overpriced and disgusting. more

The best 6/24/2005

The San Francisco zoo is excellent. It makes a great day trip adventure.. Accessible via mass transit, they'll give you a discount on your tickets if you show a muni stub. While you're there, don't miss out on "Big Cat Feeding" every day but Monday at 2pm. "See the lions and tigers devour their afternoon meal in the Lion House." It's very cool. more

Great for kids 6/22/2005

This zoo is much more managable than other zoos we've been too. I just love walking through here, especially the new "African Safari" area. You can see Zebras and Giraffes right up close. Also, witness lions and tigers eat up their food close to your nose at 2pm every day except Mondays! That's the highlight for me. My son thinks its the train ride, and the petting zoo. I go at least once a month, and it's especially nice in the winter months, when the zoo is very quiet. You can feel like you are the only person there. more
