San Fernando Pet Hospital

I had been a client at San Fernando Pet Hospital for 15 years, taking all of my pets to Dr. Makkar. Everything had been very good until I had to have my beloved 18 year old cat put to sleep two weeks ago. I chose to have him cremated, and after having to wait two weeks to get his remains back, I was given the WRONG ones!!!!! I called them to tell them what happened and get the crematorium's phone number, and they refused to give it to me. Instead, he tried to convince me that the ashes were my cat's and that they just had the wrong name on them. Then he said he would give me a refund for the cremation. When I said that was not good enough and that I wanted them to find my cat, and that somewhere out there, there was another distraught pet owner missing his/her pet's remains, he had the nerve to offer me a $200.00 credit as well as the refund, and that there was nothing else that could be done. As if money can fix this egregious mistake! I will be finding a new Veterinarian stat! more

This is a small veterinary establishment off Truman Street. I took my puppy in four times for it's first vaccines and was very dissatisfied with this veterinary service provider. First visit was very unwelcoming. I had to wait while the front desk assistant finished her personal call and was quickly told to fill out paperwork. We asked for a physical exam of the puppy, deworming, and its first set of shots. The veterinarian was quick, came in said my puppy was fine and went out again. He seemed as if he was in a hurry although my pet and I were the only clients in the quiet hospital. As a first time pet owner with a puppy in my hands, I felt no support from this establishment. On my next visit, any record of my first visit was misplaced and I had to fill out the same paperwork again. Although my pet was calm the nurse had trouble administering the shot. On my way out, after paying and receiving my receipt, I noticed that I was charged for deworming, which was already done on my first visit. I had to head back and let them know of their mistake. Overall, I was left with a bad impression of the place. I got no support as a first time pet owner. I received a lack of information. Staff seemed very unprofessional. I was hoping for a lasting relationship with a veterinary clinic but it seemed as if they were not interested in seeing me again. The good: prices were not high and office was clean. more

GEORGE MAKKAR IS REALLY THE BEST DOCTOR IN CALIFORNIA, HE IS VERY KIND AND CONSIDERATE TO THE ANIMAL AND THE OWNER,WE JUST CAN NOT SAY ENOUGHT ABOUT THIS DOCTOR AND HIS STAFF.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GREAT DOCTOR AND A PLACE TO TAKE YOU PET, YOU NOW KNOW WHERE THE BEST IS!!!! THANK YOU. Pros: THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT THE ANIMALS. Cons: NONE AT ALL more
