Zoo 11/17/2005

The San Antonio Zoo is a place the whole family will enjoy. We make it at least one a year and there is always something new to see. The entire park is heavily shaded and there are plenty of seating areas to stop and rest. This is especially nice for the grandparents. Be sure to ask if there are any new babies to see in the nursery, the new babies are always amazing to look at. more

Good fun for the kids 11/9/2005

We have season passes for our family to this zoo. As far as zoos go, it is pretty good. The animals all see well cared for and happy. There is always a large variety of exhibits to see and many activities scheduled throught the day. My kids especially love the elephant exhibit. This year they had a bird section where you could actually feed the bird nectar and let them sit on you hands. There is a park conveniently located next to the zoo that is a great place for picnic lunches. more

Best in the Area - Worth the trip to San Antonio! 8/27/2005

The Zoo in San Antonio is worth the drive. I've been there about 5 times and it's fun for me even as an adult. There's so much to see. Our favorites are the Monkeys (of course) and the Hippo's. The last time we went they had a new baby Hippo and she was beautiful! They have animal food machines around the park that you can buy (for about a quarter) and feed SOME of the animals. The gift shop is nice, but expensive. There's a train ride, refreshment stands, restaurants. Alot of the animals don't come out when it's real hot but it's still worth the price! more

Nice zoo 8/21/2005

Probably not the best zoo that I have been to, but definitely still worth going to. They have lots of animals and things to do for children. There are many great places to take pictures there. This zoo is fairly clean. If you do visit the San Antonio Zoo, I recommend to go see the Komodo dragons since you don't get to see them in all zoos. more

Great place 8/13/2005

I live in San Antonio, but still go to the zoo on a regular basis. Its a great place to go for a day of fun. they have great exhibits and many things to see. definitely make sure you stop by to see the penguins. highly recommend for anyone thats visiting san Antonio. more

The zoo... 8/11/2005

in San Antonio offers lots of shady spots. The zoo offers natural habitats for most of the animals so it doesn't seem as caged in as others. There is a great new indoor play area for children 5 and under in the Tiny tot nature spot that also includes outdoor play space for little ones. Larger children will enjoy a play area with slides where they are able to feed sheep and llamas. more

Always fun 8/5/2005

This zoo isn’t exactly the San Diego zoo but it still is fun. Make sure you bring a camera with you, that always makes the experience more fun. I would strongly recommend not going during the summer because it sure does get hot outside. The heat and the bad animal smells really can stir your little ones up, believe me I know from experience. more

Be prepared to walk in the San Antonio heat. It can get very smelly in the elephant area. They have a nice children's area. I would recommend finding a coupon before going. There are usually free child’s admissions (with paid adult). The zoo has many animals to look at, but don’t be surprised if most of them are ‘hiding’ in this heat. more

Great zoo! 7/29/2005

The San Antonio zoo is a wonderful place to spend the day with your family. They have a great selection of wild animals from all over the world. The landscaping is nice and taking a leisurely walk around the zoo on a mild day is a very pleasant experience (if you don’t mind the smell!). more
