My wife and I decided to buy a sofa at this location, as we are low income and could not afford a new sofa at the time. We paid for it in advance, and told the clerk we would be back in a few days to pick it up, as we needed to borrow a pickup to haul it. When I returned to get it, they had re-sold it to somebody else! They refused to refund our money or let us take a different sofa.\r
I called their retail manager in Rochester (Bob) to ask for a refund. Like the staff in Red Wing, Bob was rude and confrontational. When I informed him that this was theft, he began insulting me.\r
I then called the owner, who also refused to give me a refund or store credit.\r
As a result, we no longer shop at Salvation Army, and we no longer make donations. Although they pretend to help low income people, the truth is, they actually steal from us if they get the chance.\r
