There are 2 good Salvation Army thrift stores around. One is located at 36660 Gratiot Avenue, Clinton Township (586-790-4820), right before you hit 16 Mile Road (Metropolitan Parkway).

This store has LOTS of good merchandise to choose from, many brand new with tags. The few times I have been there, they seem to have a decent selection of furniture and non-clothing items. The parking lot seems acceptable for the size of the store, but on holidays, like this past Monday, Labor Day, many items are 50% off the already clearanced price and it gets busy and congested. I think the selection is very good at this one, as well as at the other one located at 45550 Van Dyke in Utica (586) 323-6372.

This one is larger than the one on Gratiot and has an even better selection than the above store.
