Salon Matarazzo

I have been going to see Liz at Salon Matarazzo for the past 4 years for both my hair cuts and color. I always love going to this salon, where all of the staff members are welcoming and friendly, and always have nice things to say. Liz always listens to my ideas of what I want done, and then adds her opinion and my hair never fails to look fabulous when I walk out of the salon! I've loved Liz so much that I started sending my boyfriend there to get his hair cut by her, too! I appreciate the atmosphere, talent, and the boost to my appearance every time I visit Salon Matarazzo. I'd recommend Liz and the Salon to everyone! Ladies, (and men!) you'll love Liz!!! more

I just went to Salon Matarazzo to see Holly for color correction after I stupidly went to a different salon for a glaze. My expectations weren't very high considering the state of my hair when I arrived. The previous stylist left my roots red and dried my hair out. Holly certainly had her work cut out for her! She added highlights, lowlights, and toned my hair to a beautiful caramel & brown. My hair looks amazing and only talent such as Holly's could have achieved such a result. I highly recommend this salon and Holly. The salon is not stuffy, the talent is outstanding, and the stylist's are fun to talk with! Thank you Holly for saving my hair! more

I've recently been converted to a Salon Matarazzo client after getting butchered twice in a row at my old place. My favorite part about this salon is that the stylists are thorough and ask the right questions BEFORE getting started. Unlike the previous reviewer, I didn't have a bad phone/receptionist experience. I'm usually really annoyed by that sort of thing as well. Just called to see if possibly there was a same day appointment, and the "receptionist" barely said the slaon name (with an annoyed tone) and after I asked if they had appointments she responded "uhhh NO, we're all booked..." not even a can I check another day or time for you, nothing. I have been going to Lexi for about 10 years now and I love her! She's always listening to exactly what you want and she is really cute and nice. I only had a problem once with the way my hair was done and she fixed it completely free the next day. I highly recommend going to see her. But she will be taking maternity leave at the end of this month (June 2009). Pros: Amazing haircuts more

I am not one to write a review for something but I had to write a review for the stylist Chloe at Salon Matarazzo. I was a first time client and wanted to get my hair cut and colored. I have been to a few salons around the area and have finally found a good spot for me. I like the environment of the salon and there is plenty of FREE parking out front! Chloe is one of the most outgoing people I have ever met. She is a big bundle of energy and I was a little worried she wasn't paying attention to my hair but it ended up turning out perfect! I am getting compliments on my hair more than I ever have and all my friends want to know who does my hair. I have never received this kind of attention before because of my hair. I give 2 thumbs up for Salon Matarazzo and recommend Chloe for all your hair needs....and a good conversation! Pros: Best Cut and Color, She is very nice and outgoing more

I went to Eric based on his reviews on this site for a color fix two days after my hair, which is dark brown with highlights, had been turned orangey by another hairstylist at a different salon and I've been going to him ever since for both cuts and color. I'm pretty picky, and I highly recommend him! My hair is really challenging to make lighter because it 'pulls red' very easily - many times I have almost been in tears at other places when the foils were removed and I could see this glinty gold copper color shining shining up in the salon lights, even after I had warned the stylist that this might happen and they really needed to go more towards ash tones than they might think. Eric spent a lot of time on my hair that first time and totally fixed it, and since then has continued to do a great job on cuts and colors. Unlike a lot of stylists he doesn't make you feel rushed towards the end of the appointment, and if there is something that I'm not sure about at the end (once I thought my hair might still be too gold, but it turned out I got compliments on it) he offers to spend more time on it to make it right. So, no place is perfect and I don't expect the ideal cut or color every single time, but Eric has done my hair probably four times now and I've been getting compliments on it throughout that time. If you're looking for a change, or someone to fix your color, he's definitely worth a try. more

I have found most hair stylist appear to listen to what you want but only hear a small portion of what you actually say. Then they go about their happy business of snipping away at your hair. So, you walk out of the salon praying that when you get home (do your own shampoo and dry) your hair it will actually look somewhere close to what you are looking for. I have very thick hair and like it to be shoulder length with a bit of a sassy look without looking punk. That requires a lot of precise layering. My hair stylist moved (there should be a law against hairstylist and doctors moving) and I was in the unhappy dilemma of finding another stylist that could deal with my needs. I searched for several weeks and went to some of the highly recommended salons. One of the stylists made such a mess of my hair I actually cried and was embarrassed to be seen. Then I did a "City Search". I was impressed with all of the positive reviews of Salon Matarazzo and called. The phone was answered by a very professional, friendly, inviting woman who told me she had time available with Holly and that she was sure I would be happy with her. She was right!! I get compliments on my hair almost every day. Holly knew exactly what I wanted at the very first visit. I have only been to her two times, have already referred her, and feel blessed to have found her. If you want someone with talent, who listens to your needs and is a mature, beautiful, delightful, woman, Holly is it. Pros: professional, friendly Cons: somtimes have to wait more

Ron (the owner) has been the only person to cut my sometimes-unruly hair for over 20 years. I am stopped, almost daily, by strangers who comment "Your hair is beautiful" and then follow with "Where do you get it cut?" I cannot count how many strangers and friends I have sent to Ron and his excellent staff over the years. Even when I didn't live nearby, the drive to Bellevue was well worth the result. And with all the new shops & restaurants at Lincoln Sqare about a mile away, and more to come soon which will be even closer to the Salon, a haircut or color can be the reason for an all-day adventure. Yesterday, I went to Salon Matarazzo for the first time. I went in with shapeless, limp hair and Liz cut it into a wonderful shoulder length bob. She was able to see just what I wanted from the photos I'd brought with me and also advised how my bangs should look for my face shape. I am so happy with the result! For a great cut, I would definitely recommend Liz. more

My experience with Salon Matazzaro was a notch above the hair salons I've visited. Each stylist was apprenticed, went to and through advanced training with education, often sent to places like New York. At the salons expense. This is a salon that cares about us! And giving you the best services possible, with new ideas and they welcome all ideas (pictures for me) we have as well. This salon also has staff that have come from notable salons, indeed. My haircut was fixed, and looks phenomonal. I'm an industry professional in the same line of beauty, and this salon knows you deserve it... I was so happy with my experience of going to Salon Matarazzo. I looked on City Search to find a good salon and I could not of been more pleased. Lexi gave me a hair syle and cut and I love it! She actually walked me through the process so I could hopefully repeat it at home. I am so glad I found her and the salon! more

I used to go to the "name brand" salons and was really happy with the person who used to cut my hair. Then she moved out of state and after that I have not been able to find anyone who I would come back to again. But I think I found her... I made a last minute appointment at Salon Matarrazzo, I was having one of those really baaaad hair days. They got me in the same day. on my lunch break. With my schedule being so unpredictable, that was great off the bat! I've passed it many times since it is so close by my workplace. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when I walked in, it totally felt like a high end salon; from the pretty nicely dressed stylists, tan smiling receptionist, the modern furniture and restroom. It was a little intimidating, I was in my work clothes and hair a mess. Then I met my stylist - Lexi. She is young, pretty and made me feel at ease. She listened to what I wanted and didn't want. She gave me a beautiful haircut that made me look and feel great. She also gave me tips on how to style and products to use. I also asked her about color, she recommended some lighter pieces throughout and overall lighter color. I was so excited to come back and that I did. My second appointment was long because of the foil but so well worth it. My husband and kids (even my teeneager) gave me such nice compliments. Lots of people at work noticed too, they weren't used to seeing my hair down and styled. I already get compliments that I look young for my age but after Lexi was done with me, I told her she has made me look like a teenager again!! I love my hair now and I will be back to see Lexi as long as she is there. She is knowledgable and talented for someone so young. It speaks volumes for the salon and owners that Lexi and others have been there for over a decade. I also noticed that the clientele was a good mix - young women, older women and even construction looking guys! I recommend Salan Matarrazzo to anyone!! I went to Eric because he was recommended as a colorist. I was not disappointed. He was able to extract the waning color from my hair to leave the beautiful white base color I wanted. It was a complicated process and he gave it his utmost attention. The process took several hours, and I was able to watch a number of the other stylists at work, cutting, styling, foiling, coloring, etc. I was impressed with them all. Great find! more

I have been trying to find a descent place to get my hair cut for years. I have had some bad haircuts in the last few years and am kind of picky when it comes to my hair. Shannon was AWESOME! She is very professional and did a great job with my hair. My hair was totally jacked up and uneven when I went in there and now it is perfect. I told her how I wanted it and she cut it perfectly. i came in on a whim just an hour before i had to be at the airport. i am new to the area and have not found anyone good to cut my hair yet. the girl put me with erik. he was great! he was fast and i could tell he knew what he was doing. it was exactly as i wanted it and i made it to the airport on time. i am recomending him to my wife as well! we will definately make the drive across the bridge for a great haircut! thanks so much. more

I have been going to Salon Matarazzo for 10 years and I wouldn't go to ANY other salon. I have increadbly hard hair to cut and Salon Matarazzo always does an amazing job. I Highly reccomend Salon Matarazzo to everyone. Their staff is very friendly and dependable. For hair cuts I reccomend Ron Matarazzo the owner for 16 years. For hair colors I reccomend Jen or Lexi. My hair is very challenging for color technicians and stylists to work with. Its coarse and wavy and difficult to get the color and style correct. I have been to most of the "top" Seattle salons and finally found Salon Matarazzo in Bellevue. The stylist (Ron) and colorist (Lorane) really listened to what I wanted, gave me their input and suggestions, and took their time to make sure they got it right. I left the salon loving my hair, which is something that very rarely ever happens! Plus the atmosphere at the salon is friendly and professional. i have been seeing erik for close to 12 years now - yes, at this one location. it is so nice to not have to follow a person you like from place to place. i know i can always get in when i want too even last minute because e always finds time for me. thats what i like best about this place. you feel like a friend, a part of the group. everyone knows me and treats me good. its nice to get a little respect somewhere. i hope you know you got it good.
