Editorial review from Citysearch 1/27/2013

I went to this place at the request of a coworker. My standard for Med food is Fadis, it's solid and consistent. The first thing I notices (again compared to Fadis), was the meals cost about $8 more than the above mentioned eatery and the setting is not as nice. The bread was like a stale tortilla, which was disappointing. The meal (lamb kabob, chicken kabob, humus and pickled veggies) was OK - ish. You're only choice of side is rice and it's a lot of rice. Meat was pretty good. I'd give the meal 1 stars out of 5 (really low because the bread was dreadful).\r \r The other reviews here seem to be written by the staff of the Sahara. All only have one review (I know I do, but I joined just to chime in). They all seem to not just recommend, but advertise. Like the check list below by ALTAY seems way too detailed to be a customer. The others look like they are from their website. Like, if truly enjoyed myself I'd say, ""this is great,"" not ""forget the other places in DFW"" like Lindsey did or ""I also used Sahara for Catering my house parties"" like PTlaul. These aren't natural ways of explaining how the food tastes.\r \r Also, it is definitely not romantic. It has a small market inside and dishes stacked around the restaurant. No prob with that, just doesn't scream amore'. So, in review, this place is somewhat pricey, the bread is terrible, the side of rice is oddly excessive, the meat's OK, the setting is hole in the wall (which is OK, just not romantic) and the other reviewers here don't see to be real people, but Sahara staff (which all seemed to be nice). more

FANTASTIC FOOD, WONDERFUL HOSPITALITY, EXCELLENT SERVICE! 1/27/2012

It was one of the best mediterranean and persian places I've had in the area. I really liked the chicken kabobs with this sauce that they had. It had loads of flavor and it really hit the spot. My friends and I really had a good time. The way they decorated the place is really nice. I would suggest everyone should give this place a try. more

Sahara is by far the best Persian food in the city - forget the other places in DFW , this is much more authentic and fresh in a charming location. Plus - it's BYOB so you can bring along whatever you'd like! I use Sahara for Catering Services for my business parties and they all just love the food. Honestly, you should go to SAHARA Pros: Lunch Buffet & Dinner Menu more

We enjoyed it very much. It was romantic setting. We brang a bottle of red wine with us. The food was very authentic, great menu, great service and moderately priced. Our friends were vegetarian so they enjoyed the varied choices on the menu. Pros: Kababs, Rice, Stew, Salads, etc Cons: Still thinking of one more

Grade A+ for SAHARA 5/31/2010

Really great Persian/Mid East food with a fantastic atmosphere. The wait staff are very professional and the servings are huge. During the day they also offer a really nice lunch buffet wich is priced great and is a good way to get to taste a lot of new dishes. For dinner the atmosphere is really nice and makes a good location for a romantic dinner for 2 or even a family or bussiness dinner. Plus its BYOB. Try their kabobs, their fantastic, I mean really fantastic. Give it a try Pros: FOOD, SERVICE, & ATMOSPHERE more

Sahara is the BEST 5/31/2010

Sahara's is a favorite of mine because every dish is so packed with unique flavor, the waiters are fabulously kind and the prices are decent. Whether you decide to order meat or veggie you will have plenty to choose from. Their hummus rocks your taste buds and all of their kabobs are amazingly delicious. They get a perfect rating because service taste and setting are all equally wonderful. Please try Sahara's. You won't be sorry!! more

Sahara is the Best 4/30/2010

We went here this weekend for a romantic date night meal before a movie. I'm not that familiar with Persian food and as a vegetarian, I expected it to be a difficult situation. Totally wrong! My husband loves kebabs and knew what to order right away. I wasn't so sure and consulted with our server who ended up being the owner. He was incredibly helpful and nice and his recommendation of a vegetarian eggplant stew was right on. I really enjoyed the stew with their saffron rice. The eggplant spread appetizer was incredible and paired with a nice glass of wine and the finish of a petit piece of bahklava, it was a very nice meal Pros: Everything Cons: A little smaller restuarant more

THE BEST Persian / Middle East food in DALLAS! 2/9/2010

I've been a Sahel Sahara customer for the past 5 years and this is why: 1. They use all natural ingredients (NO M.S.G. Chemical!) 2. Best Customer service (much better than Fadhis) 3. High Quality and very scrumptious foods! (better than Fadhi's, etc) 4. Family owned and very nice ""homey"" atmosphere 5. Always prepare food ON TIME. Pros: All Natural Ingredients, NO MSG, Superb Customer Service! Cons: none! more
