People beware of this place!!! I brought my dog in for "doggie day care", minus the care.... I brought him back in the next morning as soon as they opened to see the vet, because ...

Thank You 10/25/2011

I just wanted to thank you for taking care of Charles for me. He is doing really great. The medicine you prescribed for him is definitely working. The vets here really did a great job. Thanks again. more

The entire staff are a very caring group of people. They really are in this profession to help animals and those who love them. more

Very informative 10/19/2011

As soon as we got our new puppy, we were already talking about getting him trained. We actually bring him to Safari for his check ups so it only seemed right. They do such a great job and taught me a lot I didn't know, even though I've had dogs before. Very informative. more

Very knowledgeable 10/3/2011

I completely trust them. I got Skyler about a year ago when he was a puppy. He is my second dog, so of course I always have a lot of questions. Every time I go in I am welcomed by a happy, friendly staff. They are so sweet. All the doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable. They are all so compassionate and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. more

The Safari staff answers any questions that I may have. I will continue to use Safari as my pets veterinarian. Thank you to Dr. Garner and his staff members, keep up the good work. more

very unhappy, they were greedy during bad time for us 9/19/2011

I called the day before to set up everything to have our lab put down since I knew it would be hard on us. I told them what I wanted and asked for a quote. I was quoted 65 to 75 dollars and that they would take care of her remains. My husband took her and when he got there was told a much higher price and had to go through all the options and fees even though I had been clear the day before about what we wanted. They did come down on the crazy high fees they were telling him. We still ended up paying $44 more than we were quoted. Who is going to argue when you are so sad and putting down a family pet? I like to support local business but will never support their business or greedy mean tactics. more

Very caring and knowledgable staff 6/10/2011

Dr Garner and his staff are exceptional. His entire staff is wonderful, they are sweet, personable, and they always answer any questions that I may have. I was not used to the techs offering to carry my babies out to the car, opening the doors for me. They always walk me to the front counter and bid me a good day. I have never received such wonderful care. If you want to take your pets somewhere that they will be treated like family then Safari is the place for your furry babies. more

Best Veterinary Care! Very Loving! 2/18/2011

I have been going to Safari for many many years and they have gone through many changes throughout the years. I have always gotten very good service but over the past year things have really changed for the better! The staff is so smart and caring. One tech is very young and I expected her to not know much because she is so young but she was incredibly intelligent. I was able to ask her anything and she was able to answer and give me knowledge on the subject. After every visit at Safari I learn something new everytime. Safari has taught me many things. Safari has really improved and is the best place to go if you want the best care for your pet. more

DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET! ALL THEY WANT IS $$$ 3/1/2010

stay away at all costs. this place does not care about animals, only to make as much money as they can and do not even provide good treatment. Pros: location Cons: bad care, cost, rude, lack of concern more

AWFUL! 12/9/2008

Worst experience ever! DO NOT get your animal groomed there, they do not listen to what you tell them to do, they do what they think looks best. Did not get the exam I was told was with the package. Very unprofessional staff has no clue on anything. Simply Clueless!! more

Do not take your pet here if it is an emergency! 7/9/2008

About a week ago, me and my boyfriend got a new puppy, and she was about 8 weeks old. We took her to get her 1st puppy shots. Shortly after, i arrive home and she is throwing up constantly along with a runny stool. We call the vet they said to ""let it take its course"". So we waited untill the next day, we brought her up there and they injected her with a steriod to keep her from throwing up. We go home and she is still very very sick. We took her up there for the 3rd time on the next day. They ran tests and found she had ""parvovirus"".\r I am very upset they didnt not catch it or run tests the 1st time we were in the office. We will DEFFINATLY not be back there anytime soon. Pros: The nurse was very nice. Cons: the ""24 hour number"" is false. That is in fact the office number. more

Heart-felt, real, honest approach to caring for your pet 5/20/2008

I've been through quite a lot with my little peek-a-poo over the last week. She dislocated her hip last Wed. and had to be taken to an emergency clinic. Safari is my normal vet so I took her in to check the bandage on Sat. Dr. Garner had just returned from lunch. He didn't even go in back, but instead came straight to her, and did a preliminary check. He was honest and straight-forward regarding the possibilities of difficulty in healing, and made me feel like I was quite at home in the office. Yesterday (Tuesday) I came home, let her out of her kennel, and walked her. She had thrown up in her kennel, and immediately upon hitting the grass hunkered and began bleeding profusely from her rectum. By this time it was close to 6, which is when Safari closes. I called them, and they asked me to bring her in right away. I've had other vet. offices tell me they were closing, and the pet would need to go to an emergency clinic if I didn't want to make an appointment for the next day, so their approach and attitude was a very pleasant change. I would definitely say if you live in the Clear Lake area, don't take your beloved pet to anyone else. The staff is excellent, and both Dr. Garner and Dr. Mooney are top notch, wonderful, caring, and understanding vets. Pros: everything more
