I first saw Dr. Sadick on ABC news on a segment about the latest treatment for spider veins. Although I was a bit apprehensive, I decided to give this new treatment a try. The news report stated that the treatments cost anywhere between $250-$500 per session and that typically, most patients only require a few sessions. When I contacted his office for an appt., I was told there was a $300 consultation fee that would be waived if I decided to go ahead with the treatments. I was also told that the cost would be $475 per treatment, per leg, without anyone even looking at me first. None the less, I agreed to the fee and had my fist session. After my first treatment, Dr. Sadick informed me that I would need a specific sonogram to determine that the blood flow in my legs was O.K. I agreed, but had to pay the full amount upfront, even though this was covered under my insurance ($850). I then scheduled my second treatment, which I was told had to be at his Park Ave. office. After the sonogram, which lasted about an hour, Dr. Sadick examined me and informed me that the solution he was using came in a foam form and would work much faster than the solution he used in the first treatment. He told me that the cost would be $1,000. What he failed to make clear was that this cost was per leg. Normally I would have asked more questions, but I was exhausted from the sonogram, which I had to stand for the entire time. I was presented with a bill for $2,000 as I left his office. I was also being pressured to book my next appt. right away. When I questioned Dr. Sadick regarding the length of time it would take to see some improvement, he informed me that it would take several months and many more treatments. I decided to wait to see if there was in fact any improvement before I spent any more money. It is now almost 5 months since my treatments and I do not see any improvement in the areas that he treated. In fact, I have a bruise that never disappeared. In addition, I found Dr. Sadick's comments to me in the exam room to be extremely inappropriate and awkward. However, to his assistants, his behavior obviously was the norm. In hindsight, it is clear to me that Dr. Sadick uses his Park Ave. address to justify his fees. I have since found another doctor who uses the same new treatment as Dr. Sadick did, for half the cost, and is much closer to home and has amazing reviews! I wish I had done my research first, and not trusted what I saw on T.V. This has proven to be a very expensive lesson for me ($3,800).
