Beware of Pierre Henrion 10/20/2011

Please be aware that Pierre Henrion is a pathetic activist who makes a living out of criticizing animal shelters. He cannot back up anything he says. He is a very hateful person who is part of the problem not the solution. He blames everyone else for his problems. If he loved his cats so much he would have kept them or given them to someone. The euthanasia of his cats rests on his hands alone. The SPCA of Tampa does a fantastic job. They should be commended for their outstanding efforts. Shame on you Pierre Henrion.... You are not a friend to animals.... You are a disgrace... more

SPCA as a killer shelter 9/16/2011

Did you know that, on a monthy basis, about 50% of the animals taken to this ""shelter"" are killed, including healthy animals? They are refusing to make changes to their rules, which would allow more animals to survive. Did you know that they used to slaughter thousands of animals every year without acknowledging this? This came out in August 2009 when it was published by the St Petersburg Times. Did you know that the presiden of the board of directors, J.D. Lutz, a so-called veterinarian, was a volunteer since the 1980's and never once inform the public of what was going on within this place? Should you ever be in a position that you no longer can care about your animals, DO NOT take them to this SPCA. There are other shelters in Pinellas county where your animals will have a greater change to survive and be adopted. more

Bless the animals and workers 12/7/2008

I have adopted many animals over the years and so has my daughter. I must say the people that take care of them really do care. They may have every cage full and yet they still know the animals by name. I have seen cats that were ill and I would tell the attendent and the cat was soon taken care of, these people can not be everywhere. The animals I have adopted just happen to all be cats and they are the most loving cats in the world. I have also had to turn in a few small animals found outside and they were wonderful about taking them. I am so thankful we have the Spca in Pinellas county! Pros: thumbs up on care and knowledge Cons: too amny animals to choose from! Please adopt. more
