They do quality work on furniture and the prices are reasonable. I had received a couple of other estimates and the price that SOS offered me was much cheaper and my chair looks like it came from a designer showroom. more

Great service and workmanship, price, and much more… 6/14/2011

My 2003 Acura CL needed a complete paint job, and the headlights had to be replaced.\r When I got my car back from SOS Upholstery, it was as though I’d just bought a new \r Acura from the dealership. The finish job was positively flawless, and there was\r nothing amiss. The headlights were precisely aligned to specs (difficult on these cars).\r But there’s more. They totally detailed my car’s interior at no extra charge. That was\r beyond expectations. They had also fixed the damage to my bumpers, at no cost beyond\r the original estimate. Thank you very much SOS!\r \r They had previously done a great job on my car’s tune-up. The mechanic was just\r perfect. They replaced the timing- belt and water pump, and did the front brakes, and,\r definitely, saved me a lot of money.\r \r Not that one would wish to be one, but they have made a permanent customer out of me!\r They are a one-stop auto repair shop. I’ve also seen their impressive upholstery work.\r They’re such a great deal, I’ve recommended them to family and friends.\r \r This is a family-owned business. Everyone is so pleasant, and helpful. And you get the\r feeling that they are candid and honest about the work needed to be done, and that they\r will do the best for you within budget.\r \r While at their shop, I’d also noticed two other cars before and after. A black Honda Civic\r with extensive paint damage; and a white Accord that was probably totaled because the\r whole front was gone. When I saw them after they were repaired, (and I was really\r checking them out), I was amazed at the transformation. Impeccable body and paint job.\r You couldn’t tell that these cars had just had extensive body work, and been repainted.\r I happened to see the owner of the Civic, and he was one happy customer, just like me.\r I think the owner of the white Accord feels the same way.\r more

Auto rehab wizards! 5/20/2011

I'm not sure the negative reviews I read here about SOS are referring to the same people I dealt with. (The two bad reviews are similar in voice -- sounds like the competition might have written up those) So, my experience -- also with an old, classic '91 Saab -- was quite the opposite. I had them replace my convertible top and was so impressed with the work that I brought the car back to have the front seats re-upholstered. The workmanship was great, the quality of the materials was top notch and I noticed that SOS went out of their way to refresh my old headliner (to avoid my having to pay for a new one) AND they painted certain trim parts on the car that were in need without even mentioning it. I was amazed at the transformation of my car, to be sure, but also the classic V-dubs I saw there. Good, church-going owner was pleasant and fair. Would definitely recommend this shop! more

AMENDED REVIEW... 5/15/2011

***6/23/2011 - SOS has now completed warrantied work on the installation of a new softop on my Saab convertible. The warrantied work is acceptable, and I am please that this issue has been resolved.*** Original review: I had these bums replace the top on my Saab convertible -- shoddy work (wrinkled, uneven...repair is falling apart after 7 months), owner/manager is horribly rude, they left my car dirty -- and now, the last straw: when I returned to have them amend their original lousy work under warranty - they just dented my car. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE. I have no idea how they even GOT a business license... and have no idea how they stay in business. A real stain on the good, hardworking Oceanside business community! Cannot stress enough how you should avoid this place at all costs. Have filed a complaint with the bureau of automotive repair. Leaving one star -- but only because this site requires that you leave something. Boooooooooo!!!!!!!! more

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! 4/5/2011

RUN AWAY!!! Don't waste your hard-earned money here. I can't begin to tell you what a poor job, poor customer service, bait-n-switch operation this is. My first red flag was when I drove my 66 bug into the shop and the estimator asked what year it was (should be obvious for a shop which claims to specialize in VW's). Next red flag, estimator didn't know how to properly retract the top so it didn't pinch the fabric (as shown in the factory manual). They gave me a quote, reluctantly I signed and then they tried to charge me $80 more for shipping cost's on materials. The workmanship was absolute crap!!! Sagging interior liner. Rubber which looked like it was cut with a pocket knife. Screws exposed - which shouldn't have been. Headliner pieces cut so poorly that the rear view mirror wouldn't install - so I had to obtain the correct one elsewhere. It was like working with a shop in Tijuana. Also, they required 50% down to do the job - again, like working in Tijuana. I know it's tempting because they are cheaper. But spend the extra money elsewhere. You'll save yourself tons of headaches not having to deal with these Clowns. more

Outstanding Work!! 3/15/2010

I am an owner of a Jaguar XKE . I was very disappointed with the last paint job that I had. I paid top dollar expecting to get a quality paint job from a highly regarded LA based paint shop and instead, I got a paint job that had overspray, misaligned seams, residue on the gaskets, missing hardware, and misaligned chrome and body work. Needless to say, I was not happy at all. \r After leaving the LA area, I wanted to have my Jag redone and, after searching the internet and visiting various shops in the San Diego area, I decided to have SOS Upholstery in Oceanside complete the work. Boy! Was I surprised and pleased!! The paint job turned out to be beautiful!!! It’s like looking into a mirror….the finish is smooth like glass! The key to a great paint job lies in the meticulous preparation. I am a retired quality control expert in the aviation field and I know what attention to detail is all about. Saul and his crew exercised an unsurpassed level of attention to detail with respect to the preparation and finally reassembly of my car. Everything looked great! The finish looked great, no misaligned seams, no residue on the gaskets, no missing hardware, and the price was outstanding! I feel that I was not taken to the cleaners! The best part was their customer service. My phone calls were returned promptly and, when it came time to pick up my car, they stayed open way past their closing hours so that I would enjoy the car the same day it was promised!! In addition, Saul recommended an fine British car repair shop in Carlsbad, CA and now my Jag runs beautifully! If I decide to sell the car at RM auction in Monterey, CA or at Barrett Jackson, I know I would get top $$!!! Thank you SOS Upholstery and a special “Thank You” to Saul.\r Pros: Attention to detail more
