This park is a great place to just wander around and enjoy the more than 20 acres of paths and lawns, many with descriptive signs along the way about the many different species of plants and trees on the property. The park also has a stretch of Long Island Sound beach that never seems to be crowded in the summer months.
Other activities are sporting events, and most recently exhibitions of outdoor sculpture by artists -- at the south end of the park's pond, shown in the photo.
The next sculpture show will open an exhibition of welded steel sculpture by a well-known artist, David Tobey, on Saturday afternoon, October 22nd, 2011 from 2-4. The free to all open reception party will feature live music by KirkMusic Productions of Westchester's jazz quartet ""The Pink and Green Cafe"", and there will be complimentary refreshments and free parking for all guests.
The park is also a great place to view the fall foliage, predicted to be at its height this week. Stop by, because it will be an enjoyable way to spend a few good-weather Autumn afternoon hours!
