why do they treat people so badly. dont they know KARAM. I HAVE 2 BROTHERS INCARSERATED. ONE OF THEM WAS BEAT DOWN FOR NOT HAVING HIS SHIRT ON. HE WAS CHOCKED AND BEAT BY OVER 4 OFFICER TO THE POINT THAT HIS SKIN COLOR WAS TURNING RED/PURPLE. MY 19 YEAR OLD BROTHER THAT IS INCARSERATED WITH HIM HAD TO MOVE OFFICERS AWAY FROM HIM SO HE COULD BREATH. HE THOUGHT THEY HAD CHOKED THE LIFE OUT OF HIM DUE TO HIS SKIN TURNING A DIFFERENT COLOR AND HE COULD NO LONGER MOVE. THE ARE BOTH US CITEZENS BUT THE SHERRIF DEPARTMENT HAD IMMIGRATION ON THEM. THE SHERRIF DEPARTMENT ALSO HAS THEM IN SEGREATION WHICH I BELIEVE IS CALLED THE WHOLE. THEY DON’T GET ANY INFORMATION THEY REQUEST AND ACCORDING TO MY BROTHER THEY ARE BEING TREATED AS IF THEY WHEE DOGS. THEY MAKE RACIAL COMMENTS TO THEM ASWELL. EVEN THE CHIEF OF THE FACILITY TREATS THEM THE SAME. THEY EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY ARE ABUSING THEM. THE OFFICERS IN THAT FACILITY STATED THAT NO ONE WOULD BELIEVE THEM THAT THE OFFICER BEAT THEM ON MAY 18 BETWEEM 830AM AND 11AM. ACCORDING TO MY BROTHER THERE WAS CAMERAS AT THE FACILITY WHEN IT HAPPENED. HOWEVER I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CALL THE FACILITY LEAVING MSSG TO THE LT. COPE AND LT SALANDY BUT I GET NO RESPONSES. It's very unfortunate that people who are sick, and have a disease are treated unfairly for the political gain of others. It's bad enough that their families are in this situation, but to be able to visit their loved ones has been made very difficult. My experience trying to visit the father of my child, was horrible. They would rather me bring MY BABY into the jail to see his father through a piece of GLASS, then just allow me to come alone, since we're still not legally married. Just going through the visitation process, I was treated like a common criminal. Everything is always about money, like phone service and basic needs. The fact that I have to pay for this stuff TWICE; first through taxes, second for me to pay for my loved one to have UNDERWEAR or enough FOOD. Its just unbelievable. We're not helping these people. It is amazing that the Rutherford County political system still has racism built into its governmental sytstem so deeply. Even though it is 2009, leaders of this county still live in an era of denial. Yes we as a nation have made many steps to impove the livelihood of all, but for those who still use race as a defining factor in decision making, I feel sorry for you. Your hate no longer holds back those who don't look like you. You may control your immediate environment with your unfair judgement, but that will be all you control....forever. Soon, it will only be what is in your immediate four walls. What will you do then? Hate yourself? It would only make sense...then you could implode and make everyone else happy. well how i look at is if i was to put my child in the water that the jail allow us to take a shower in then i would be in jail for child \r abuse well i am some ones child and why do men get to eat first when anyone eats cold food over and over then u become backed up so now u have to live with pain but the real messed up thing about it all is that some people r there 4 child support or not paying a ticket or driving without a license and get the same thing as a murder WHY? there is much more that needs told but if it bothers others then they should stand up for what is write one more thing racism between the grads and the inmate is bad on the grads part thanks more
