This is a very nice family place to go to on a Sunday in the late spring or summer. THey have absolutely the best apple cider donuts....in the fall, there is a long line of people...

This is a very nice family place to go to on a Sunday in the late spring or summer. THey have absolutely the best apple cider donuts....in the fall, there is a long line of people just waiting to get the donuts. They have great apple cider, apple pies, etc. A particular favorite in the fall season. Other times of the year, you can also get seasonal fruits and veggies. They also have a small gift section with soaps, toys, candies. They also sell their own wines made from fruits. They offer wines samples for you to try. They have a little animal petting area too. more

Russell Orchards sells a wide array of goodies including fresh baked pies, cider donuts, scones, fresh homebaked breads, cookies, croutons and even some doggie cookies for your dog. They sell fresh farm grown fruit and berries. Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries,apples, currants, grapes, peaches, pears. Russell's also has an on site winery that produces hard cider and fruit wines. The kids will enjoy the farm animals and playing in the large playground. A nice place for viewing a farm or for picking your own fresh fruit. more

A great place for a fall weekend. Here you can pick your own apples, pick out a pumpkin or other Fall decorations, shop in their Barn Store with fruits, cider, jams, jelly's, candy, wine, homemade pies etc... and get a homemade cider donut while you are at it. They are is always a line and the smell alone is worth the trip. They also have a pond with birds, and a barn with livestock, chickens, bunnies, turkeys and the biggest pig you have ever seen! Also, hayrides around the orchard and a small toddler play area with swings and a sandbox. more

Russell Orchards in Ipswich is one of the best PYO experiences 7/11/2005

There are tons of pick-your-own farms and orchards out there, but this is one of the best. They offer a variety of produce to pick--strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, pears and apples. They have a large store that sells fresh produce as well as jars of preserves and vinegars and even wine made from the fruits at the orchard. There is a barn with a miniature horse, sheep and an 800 pound pig! Ducks, geese and even a peacock wander the grounds. And the picking experience itself is superb. We went late in the strawberry season, so the remaining fruits required some hunting, but the quality was worth the effort. more
