For a lunchtime place in DC... perhaps I have overly high expectations... but i really expect the service to be quick... and it wasn't here. I had very low expectations going in, it looks like a college town bar, (and smells like one too) but the food actually wasn't that bad; (I had a goat cheese salad) It was a bit expensive for what you get, but thats to be expected in DC, however... I feel like, I only saw our waitress ever 25 minutes.... we needed to flag down other people to ask for drinks, the check, etc. I hate doing that! more

I smell a frat party... 9/23/2005

I have to admit that I didn't have high hopes for Rumors, as we walked in and I immediately smelled the smale stench of a fratnerity party lounge. However, the night was pleasant enough for hanging out on the porch and the guitarist they had playing out there was suprisingly good. That was a week night. I've also been there on a weekend night and it's everything you could hope for if you're wanting to be picked up and schmoozed by your contemporaries. A dance floor that gets full after a few rounds, pretty decent music, and a bartender who will glady take shots with you? Not too shabby... I'll be back... more

Good place for drinks with friends after work 8/27/2005

This is a nice place to get drinks after work. They have good happy hour specials and the servers are good about accomodating larger groups. There's some outside seating. The food is average- a bit expensive for what you get, but OK. The fries are better than average. more
