Excellent Zoo 8/21/2005

We have gone to Roger William's Park Zoo a couple of times, and had a great time each visit. We took our son, who was 2 and he loved looking at all the animals. The layout is nice and they have interesting animals (more than just monkeys and snakes). The park is well shaded, so even though it is spread out and you do a lot of walking, it's not overwhelming. The exhibits are well set up and the zoo seems very well taken care of. There is currently a great exhibit about dinosaurs that we are hoping to check out soon. They offer refreshment services, which are a little high in price, but we combined that with bringing some of our own things and it made for a good lunch. The price of the zoo is decent, and we used a pass from the Entertainment Book (one complimentary admission with the purchase of another). Parking is ample, and the ticket booth staff was friendly. They have appropriate restrooms. They are easy to find right off the highway. Overall, a great family day. more

Good Zoo 8/21/2005

This is a very small zoo but because of its size, are very family and kid oriented. Although the zoo is pretty small, it houses an impressive number of animals and species such as polar bears, giraffes, snow leopard, and elephants. One thing I liked about the zoo is that the animals are housed in environments that seem very naturalistic. I went here with my little cousins and they couldn’t get enough of the place. more

i love zoos 8/17/2005

well i happen to just plain love zoos, so although the roger williams park zoo is nothing special, i absolutely loved it. it is of course a great option for people of any age, and i especially recommend going to see the camels. watch out, because they like to spit. this is a great destination for a nice sunny, summer day. more

Great Zoo 8/12/2005

There is a lot to see at this zoo. It is big and includes animals from all over the world as well as a local ecosystem to walk through. Some favorites are the polar bears, although one recently died after I went and saw it with some bizarre skin problem. There are monkeys that are fun to watch and barnyard animals. more

decent zoo, not a huge variety 8/9/2005

If you want to see some tigers and elephants, this is a good place to visit. As far as other large zoos go, this is not too much to boast about. There is not a huge variety of animals, but it is only $10, so if you have nothing else to do it is certainly worth a visit. more

Family Fun not too far from Home! 8/1/2005

My family has a season pass to the Roger Williams zoo. It's well worth the $70 we paid for it. The zoo has plenty of exhibits and is constantly working to improve/ add more each year. The zoo is not so big that you can lose family members there but it is big enough to tire your kids out for the ride home. The zoo is home to some of our favorites such as the snow leopards, penguins, and sea lions. The best part of the zoo is the polar bears with the underwater viewing wall. Unfortunately, the polar bear passed away not so long ago, but there are signs up about the zoo acquiring new polar bears when their exhibit is renovated. As with most places like this, food bought in the park is rather expensive but if you bring a cooler and avoid the gift shop at all costs, it's really not too expensive. Oh, and the restrooms are CLEAN! more
