Robintino's is always crowded, and I have yet to discover why. Everytime I've been there, I've been very disappointed. Because the restaurant is owned by a local family, I'm always hoping I'll have a better experience, but nothing changes. The specialty non-alcoholic drinks taste like a melted popsicle, the salad looks like it came out of a bag with a few extra grocery-store veggies thrown in, the meat sauce is bland and uninteresting. The lasagna is huge, but filled with what looks like raw sausage, and the taste reminds me of Chef Boyardee. I also ordered a pizza the last time I went to take home to my family, hoping it would be better than the other offerings (how can you mess up pizza?), but I was very disappointed in that, too. It had that horrible raw-looking meat, overcooked peppers (which take on an unpleasant pea taste when overdone), canned mushrooms, and fake-tasting cheese that got pretty rubbery when cooled. The sauce was, you guessed it, bland, and the crust nothing special. And it cost plenty! I fail to understand how the place remains open and is always busy. My family, including the extended family, has finally given up going there because the food is never good, and it never improves. On the flip side, the restaurant can accommodate large groups, and has a fun upstairs place to sit. The wait staff is friendly. Those are the only positive things I can say. The wait is usually not short. . .I don't get it!!
Pros: Can seat large groups, close to home, nice servers and staff
Cons: Food is unfortunately not tasty
