The Mystery of Robintino's Decline 10/22/2011

I remember the olden days (not that long after the covered wagons arrived in the valley) -- when Robintino's was in the space where the Mandarin now thrives. A Bountiful girl, I loved it and spent many hours with my high school friends around pizzas of which I still have fond memories. more

Excellent Pizza and Lasagna - look for the cenetta 9/20/2008

It must be personal if someone is badmouthing Robintino's in Bountiful. The tomato sauce (the heart of most Italian restaurants) is tasty. Service is from waitresses. Duh. The only distraction is that they are family friendly - babes, toddlers, etc... so it's not the most romantic place due to the noise. The food has always been consistently delicious. I like the garlic bread, usually order extra. I don't know a better place with which to compare the meals. You can be the judge, just look at the masses waiting for tables from 4:00 pm 'till close on any given weekend. I recommend this restaurant 3 or 4 times a week. Thanks! Pros: good food Cons: noise? more

Awesome breadsticks! 9/5/2008

I agree with the good and bad about Robintino's, but the one thing that sticks out in my mind about this palce are the breadsticks. The food in this place is good, but the breadsticks are awesome! They are delicious! They come with delicious dipping sauce. It could just be regular ranch, I'm not sure, but it tastes great with the small breadsticks. I often order breadsticks only (to go). Soft , warm, and delicious!!! more

WORST Italian Restaurant 3/14/2008

NEVER AGAIN!! The Food at Robintino's is TASTELESS. The Prices are HIGH. The Portions are SMALL. The Service is POOR. The Waiters/Waitresses are RUDE. It is NOT Authentic Italian Food. DON'T Waste your Money! Pros: Can't Think of Any Cons: Everything from A-Z!! more

""NOT"" a Great family restaurant 3/14/2008

THE 5 STAR REVIEW POSTED BELOW DATED ON 03/09/08 BY ""2620"" WAS OBVIOUSLY AN ""INSIDE JOB"" AND WAS PROBABLY POSTED BY THE RESTAURANT OWNER OR A RELATIVE!! THERE IS NO ""HONEST"" CUSTOMER THAT WOULD TAKE THAT MUCH TIME (OR EVEN CARE) TO GO INTO SUCH GREAT DETAIL ABOUT WHAT GOES ON ""BEHIND THE COUNTER"", OR ABOUT ""VOTIVE CANDLES"" ON THE TABLES, ""FAIRLY SPACIOUS LOBBY"", WHAT THE KITCHEN LOOKS LIKE AND ON AND ON! ONCE YOU READ THAT REVIEW YOU CAN INSTANTLY TELL IT WAS WRITTEN AND POSTED BY THE OWNER (OR RELATIVE) WHO IS BIAS! THE TRUTH IS, THE FOOD IS ""REALLY LOUSY"" AND ""NOT"" AUTHENTIC ITALIAN. I TOOK SOME OUT OF TOWN RELATIVES THERE AND WAS EMBARRASED AT HOW ""RUDE"" AND DISINTERESTED THE WAITRESSES WERE (THE SERVICE WAS BAD TOO - LIKE WAITING IN A DOCTORS OFFICE) AND HOW ""TOUGH"" THE MEAT (VEAL) WAS. ANYONE WHO HAS TRAVELED THE EASTERN STATES OR HAS BEEN TO ITALY WILL TELL YOU ""ROBINTINO'S"" IS A VERY LOUSY EXAMPLE OF ITALIAN FOOD. THE ONLY REASON THAT PLACE IS POPULAR IS BECAUSE MOST OF THE LOCALS DON'T KNOW WHAT GOOD, AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD IS AND ROBINTINO'S IS ""NOT"" IT!!!!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: NONE (UNLESS YOU ARE STARVING AND THERE IS NO PLACE ELSE TO EAT ANYWHERE) Cons: FOOD IS LOUSY, NOT AUTHENTIC ITALIAN, PRICES ARE HIGH, SERVICE IS LIKE WAITING IN A DOCTORS OFFICE more

Great family restaurant 3/9/2008

I really don't understand the basis of the complaints on this board about Robintino's. The customer service is great! Many of the waitresses have been with Robintino's for several years and are VERY friendly and accomodating. The hostesses are also friendly and the cooks know many regular customers by name and will wave ""hello"" when they see you from behind the counter where they prepare the pizzas. This friendliness is a hallmark of this locally-owned restaurant. Everyone is made to feel at home. Pros: LOTS of parking. Cozy atmosphere. Large waiting room. GREAT waitresses! Cons: Sometimes a long wait on Fridays and Saturdays. more

eh.... at best. 1/18/2008

I have been to Robintino's a couple of times..... & it's always the LAST on my list of options. Frankly, I'd rather go to Village Inn. On my last visit... I decided to try the Lasagna thinking it was a safe bet.... Even bad Lasagna is good, right? Wrong. It was more like soup. I literally had to eat it with a spoon. Aweful. I've never been pleased with their food. The service is slow & somewhat (on a good night) friendly. The eye-rolling when I send a dish back for being cold is just too much. The waitresses always wear too much make-up (trashy) & WAY too much parfume (gross. I can taste it!). The dinning room is old, dingy, poorly lit, & super cold. When the bill came, I felt like I had been mugged. The prices are not that high, but I felt like I ate at a soup kitchen. Not worth your time. Pros: None!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: Everything!!!!!! Terrible everything. more

Worst Customer Service Award 8/21/2007

Customer service is embarassing! Our guests were treated like criminals when requesting a cup of sauce to take home with leftover pizza. What is the deal? Is .25 cents worth of sauce worth a bad review and a ruined evening. Get it together Robintino's! We will never go back! Save yourself the grief, there are plenty of eateries with excellent customer service. Avoid Robintinos! Pros: It is in Bountiful Cons: Service, rude treatment, uncompromising, apathetic, terrible. more

Horrible food, overpriced 11/12/2006

The only thing I like about Robintinos is their complimentary bread. Their food is overpriced and WAY below average. You're better off cooking for yourself. Also, they overcharged my credit card and Ryan, the general manager, tried to convince me that my bank had posted the incorrect amount. He said he'd research and call me back, but was too busy to do it immediately. (Way to be concerned.) He called back and told me the same thing. He hadn't even done the appropriate research before confirming that I was really overcharged. He called me back a FOURTH time to finally admit that I was, in fact, overcharged. more

Not very good food 9/25/2006

Robintino's is always crowded, and I have yet to discover why. Everytime I've been there, I've been very disappointed. Because the restaurant is owned by a local family, I'm always hoping I'll have a better experience, but nothing changes. The specialty non-alcoholic drinks taste like a melted popsicle, the salad looks like it came out of a bag with a few extra grocery-store veggies thrown in, the meat sauce is bland and uninteresting. The lasagna is huge, but filled with what looks like raw sausage, and the taste reminds me of Chef Boyardee. I also ordered a pizza the last time I went to take home to my family, hoping it would be better than the other offerings (how can you mess up pizza?), but I was very disappointed in that, too. It had that horrible raw-looking meat, overcooked peppers (which take on an unpleasant pea taste when overdone), canned mushrooms, and fake-tasting cheese that got pretty rubbery when cooled. The sauce was, you guessed it, bland, and the crust nothing special. And it cost plenty! I fail to understand how the place remains open and is always busy. My family, including the extended family, has finally given up going there because the food is never good, and it never improves. On the flip side, the restaurant can accommodate large groups, and has a fun upstairs place to sit. The wait staff is friendly. Those are the only positive things I can say. The wait is usually not short. . .I don't get it!! Pros: Can seat large groups, close to home, nice servers and staff Cons: Food is unfortunately not tasty more

Very Average 10/26/2005

The food here tasted very home-made, but it was very bland, and very average. Does anyone else think the decor of this restaurant was kind of odd? more

Sweeeet!! 11/22/2002

To food: excellent. The service: even better. The atmosphere: the best. If you are looking for great authentic italian cooking go to Robintino's in Bountiful. You can eat light with one of their great soups or salads, or you can dig in with a enormous plate of raviloli. Kick back and enjoy a beer, or sit with the kids in the good family atmosphere. Pros: Great Service, A lot for your money, Great Atmosphere Cons: A little crowded more
