Cooperative Parenting is supposed to be a win-win solution for parent?s in high conflict divorces. What it?s not suppose to be ?couples counseling? for victims who have endured years of domestic violence.\r \r In Texas there are no Standards of Practice for Parent Coordinators and no accountability - so clients are extremely vulnerable. There is absolutely no Texas law that states that Cooperative Parenting is not counseling. Even so a Parent Coordinator is to be neutral and unbiased, yet there are no checks and balances. Courts do not monitor the actions of Parent Coordinators and many attorneys are clueless as to the role of the Parent Coordinator.\r \r Now for the experts: \r \r Family Law attorney William Chennault in a letter to opposing counsel was very explicit with his concerns of Robin Walton when he wrote, ?I have no experience with her other than the very adverse and one sided testimony, which I do not feel was fair or accurate.?\r \r Judith Powel Chairwoman of the Counselors and Examiners Board stated, ?No other licensee comes anywhere near the number of complaints you have and that must send a red flag.?\r \r Never would you ask a victim of assault to participate in ?couples counseling? with their attacker and that?s exactly what is being forced upon victims of domestic violence who have to attend therapy sessions with their violent attackers.\r \r Finaly any profesional who is willing to post a revew and demean a past client is questionable. Play it safe. Obviously something wrong is going on as this so-called professional is having others reveal information that is inappropiate.. If she is being investigated in a complaint it should not be made public in exchange for financial gain in her practice. If there is a complaint only those who are mandated to confidentialty as to the context would have such information. It would be inproper for this type of information to be published in order to discredit people who are lodging complaints against this professional. Unfortunately, people who are ordered by the Courts to see Robin Walton may not only be involved in a high-conflict divorce, but may suffer from a psychological disorder and become quite revengeful and angry when Robin is asked to provide the Court feedback and the Judge does not rule in their favor. The two negative reviews on this website appear to reflect two such clients, one who is known to have have filed a complaint against Robin that has been viewed by a number of authorities as ""ramblings of a crazy person."" I made the mistake of not reading the review guidelines in the past. I do not recommend any of Robin Brown Walton or Robin Walton's services or referrals. I have direct experience with this person and the others she reffers to in her practice. If you have made the mistake of being a part of the Robin Walton machine there are recovery support groups specifically designed for you that have formed that will assist you. Guidelines for this website prohibit giving specific information or how to contact these groups but it will be likely that if searched for you may possibly encounter these groups. Robin Walton has practiced in San Antonio, Austin and most of the surrounding counties. Please keep safe any documentation, reciepts, and recordings that you have made as they will become useful once you can join your local support group. Robin helped my ex-wife and I learn to communicate about our children. She taught us that our fighting was hurting our children and how to see things from the other's side. Now, we can spend important events together for our children and my ex-wife and my new girlfriend have ""girls time"" with our daughters, which they love. I must admit it was hard to hear what I was doing wrong, but after I stopped to realize that Robin was there to help me, not criticize me...it made a difference. Counselor go into this line of work to help others and to do good. Robin Walton is not a true representation of the profession. Her motives are driven by money and power. While she did accomplish good things in her youth now she has become a person who puts the money before the helping those in real need. Her work with children is shameful and is not based on any science. Anyone who uses her services is merely looking for a win no matter what the cost. The best interests of the children are not her main concern. It is sad to see someone you thought you knew sell out for money and power. Cons: A bad example of our profession and it's ethics more
