Rivers Pest Control

I was referred to Rivers Pest Control by Turner Pest Control for fumigation of my furniture. We returned from a trip to SC and realized that we brought some unwanted guests and bugs with us from the hotel where we were staying. I took the furniture to him on Friday, and Mr. Rivers stated that I'll have it ready the following Monday morning. I had to rent a U-Haul truck to deliver and pick up the furniture. I showed up on Monday, and I had no help from anyone. The lady from the office just showed me the shed! I removed the plastic coverings and to my surprise, I see the little buggers crawling atop of the furniture (after a supposedly weekend of fumigation!). Additionally, the furniture looked scratched, dirty, and apparently placed with little or no care. I informed the front office and Mr. Rivers showed up. He stated that he did over 50 fumigation this year and I'm the first one to ever complain! He stated that he can get it fumigated again and that he'll use a more effective gas this time! Why not use the more effective gas in the beginning? What if I didn't notice the bugs still crawling and took the furniture home? That's simply recklessness and disregard. When I told him that I have to rent the U-Haul truck again at an additional $75, he simply said there is nothing that could do! I came back Tuesday morning and picked up the furniture. Needless to say that everything was piled up on top of each other with no care or regards! Avoid going there at all costs, but if you have no other options, question the effectiveness of his fumigation and ensure they stage your furniture with some care, and most importantly, insists on using clean covers (not with dead bugs all over them)! You've been warned, use them at your own risk! more

I've googled Rivers recently because of just having my annual subterranean termite inspection done, and I agree with ""op finest""... Can't believe anyone would bash this company! The Rivers family is the sweetest family and pretty much, the realest no-beating-around-the-bush type of family. Their business actually thrives on it, because I'm still here! If you've had a bad experience, maybe you should look in the mirror and find out why it is you are frustrated. Is it because you have unreasonable requests such as... wanting EVERYTHING for nothing? I've had Rivers come to my house for a little over 5 years now for my pest control, subterranean termites, and have started to add my lawn pest control because every little bit counts to keep the bugs away... I just can't stand bugs! It's definitely worth a little over $20 a month to keep them out of my lawn too. I've gone through bigger companies before Rivers and thought I'd get the satisfaction that they display on TV, but every year with Rivers, I feel very comfortable knowing exactly who is coming out, knowing who I'm speaking with on the phone, feeling like long-time friends, even family really. Even though chemicals are known to take a little while to be in effect and kill the bugs, a lot of what they offer is also guaranteed, so even after 15 days, if you're seeing a roach in the kitchen, they will come back out and respray. I haven't had any problems, only because I have a monthly service for my house and lawn and it's effective and thorough. If you can't stand bugs like me, I suggest the monthly service. You should seriously give this company a try. They really know their stuff and won't service you for what you DO NOT need like other local companies will. It's so nice going to bed every night knowing you won't have anything crawling on you in the middle of the night. more

Rivers did what 2 other companies have tried to do on their first try. Embarrassing enough my family got bed bugs. We tried to get rid of them ourselves. What a waste of money. 2 different pest control companies tried as well. It seemed to help but not totally erradicate them and the little suckers kept coming back. Rivers came to my house and after 1 treatment and 3 months later I still have to sign of them. The other comapny came out weekly for a month. more

This company is HORRIBLE!!! Mr Rivers is extremely rude and arrogant, and Curtis has arrogance to match! Only use this pest control service if you want bad customer service, and a horrible headache. Rivers pest control showed up to my property 3 hours late. They gave us USED treated bags (to protect food and belongings). ALL of the staff is rude (including the administrative assistant). I would give a rating of zero stars if possible. You've been warned- stay away! more

When I called Rivers, Alvin came out to my house and gave me a price immediately. He was knowledgeable and very professional. I should have called them first. more

I have had my termite and pest control services with Rivers Pest Control for many years and they are great! I have never had a problem with my services or the management. Their office staff and techinicans are always friendly and helpful. more
